"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: the Queen - Will the Queen stop being the Queen? If Regulus applies to anyone on the entire planet, wouldn't the Solar Eclipse to it affect an actual queen of all people? You talked about "royals"--actual and otherwise. That's what got me wondering. She is right up there at the top of the list of "royals".

re: Mexico - I am a novice in astrology but, I really enjoy your analysis. Do you know of any reliable chart for Mexico as a country? As you probably know we are facing difficult times here.

A. Thanks for your interest... Yes, I use the 1917 horoscope, and you can read about it here: neptunecafearchives./Mexico
I haven't looked at Mexico's chart in some time, but perhaps it's time to do so.

re: Trump - Yes, it is good to "take a break from the melodramatic Trump Presidency." I'm tuning him out more and more.

re: Brexit - I love reading Newscope every Monday but I have waited so long for an article on Brexit and I don't remember seeing it. We Europeans living in UK are very worried about the UK deal falling short of meeting the EU deal. Please can you do a detailed article on what's to come from now until official Brexit March 2019?

A. That's a good story idea. It's great to take a break from the melodramatic Trump presidency.

re: Bugatti - Thanks for the Bugatti info and the video. Now we know at least how the Germans pronounce the name Chiron. Like... sheer'-own' ....I'm starting to save up my $3 million today.
re: Scaramucci's Nodes - You wrote: "Scaramucci’s Mercury is also in Capricorn and conjunct the Moon’s South Node, indicating that his new job is karmic, something that was meant to be." I've always read that the South Node shows you where you've been (and so, you feel very comfortable and familiar there), and the North Node shows you where you need to be going--THAT is your destiny.

A. Mercury is a weight on his past, showing talents as well as problem areas. His North Node is ruled by the Moon, which is in Libra and squares his Mercury. He'll regret losing his wife because equitable partnership is his higher destiny, but the ambitious Mercury in Capricorn is overwhelming.

re: Jane Austin - Thank you so much for such varied and interesting content. Especially the Jane Austen bio. I have always resented her kow-towing attitude towards men, now I know she was a victim of her time.

re: Eclipses - Does an eclipse really make huge chnges when closely touching someone's chart?

A. Yes the eclipse can make for dramatic developments... generally related to the planet and the house being activated. A well aspected planet can bring windfalls, and otherwise not such favorable tidings. Even mainstream media is talking aobut what astrolgoers are predicting. See Newsweek's article here: http://www.newsweek.com/total-solar-eclipse-trump-astrology-prediction-643776

re: Uranus-Neptune - Will you ever cover the flat earth movement? According to independent research the Earth seems to be flat like the Ancients said. The heliocentric model is just a model and unproven. Try "flat earth" on google and see for yourself. It's disturbing. I believe it's the Uranus Neptune Cycle developing with the added notion that Neptune is in Pisces, so we are sensible to deceptions and frauds. Also something regarding religions and science and the clashing of the two, while accepted science has become a religion and unscientific.

re: Eclipses - What are your thoughts on solar eclipse? i see Mars triggers it 9/3. I am concerned. I read an article about Hawaii preparing for possible nuclear attack by North Korea. Also saw their latest ballistic missile launch is able to reach west USA and maybe further. Is this simply fear mongering or is this a justifiable concern!?!

A. I've written many times about the potential military conflict with North Korea - check recent archives. It is a matter of concern... Trump's besieged, and he may use a conflict with North Korea to distract from the FBI investigation into his Russian connections. Or, another way to see it is that Kim Jong Il is insane and needs to be reigned in, and Trump is the one who could do it....
re: Trump - Some reporters on CNN say that their inside contacts talk about how Trump is really panicking now about the investigation because it's looking at his personal finances.
You've said that the last time his Progressed Moon moved through his 12th house, the casino thing happened--essentially, his financial house of cards collapsed. Is it safe to conclude that this is where it appears to be heading? It's disturbing and fascinating all at the same time.

A. Now that Mueller has impaneled a grand Jury, trump's taxes will be inspected. The announcement came as transiting Sun and Mars were right on Trump's 12th house Pluto, which suggests the evidence they are tracking. Pluto here may be associated with illegal racketeering, ie., getting funding from foreign or illegal sources. It should get clearer when Trump's progressed Moon arrives at his natal Pluto in January 2018.

re: the Mooch - Zingo! You may be psychic as well as being an awesome astrologer!

re: the Mooch - Wow! We both saw the same thing--Scaramucci not lasting that long. I had commented about it to my husband 2 days before he was fired. BUT, I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE ONLY 11 DAYS!!! I had thought/guessed around 6 months.

A. Scaramucci's potty mouth got him in trouble, reflecting the downside of Mercury conjunct his South Node.
re: women in tech - I hope you will deal with the Google engineer being fired for his screed on how women aren't suited for leadership or tech jobs. I noticed that Google fired him on the lunar eclipse day. I had read that one of the things that eclipses do is to bring hidden things to light.
It's certainly true that tech is a place for men who believe in the supremacy of men. It has not helped that tech has a collection of white men dug into this belief, but also men from other cultures who think it is an insult to report to a female manager or believe women can lead, although they may be okay to be around to do clean up work.
The Google engineer that got fired went to Harvard, and it also came to light that his professors had to write a public apology for him when he did a skit in class that implied that great male scientist only rely on women to give them sex as they work their way to greatness. A lot of news outlets didn't report that find.
Anyhow, eclipses bringing the dark side to light, here we have a woman-hater who has a history of stunts, and a president who supports Nazis and white terrorists who come out into the light as if it's "both sides" in fairness.

A. Another way to look at this is about the current Lilith-Saturn conjunction, as I wrote in August's astro-event #5: "Patriarchal worldviews clash with the rising Goddess energy."

re: data - Astrodatabank now has a BC time of 8:58 AM for Kellyanne Conway. Her Moon is exactly trine Pluto, Pisces is rising, and Jupiter is exactly on the Placidus 6th house cusp .Astrodatabank also has a BC time of 12:23 PM for Christie.

A. Good to know, thanks!

re: Trump’s Mars return - I've been wondering about Trump's impending Mars Return (on the heels of the eclipse). Hmm...What can you make of this? Anything?

re: opioid crisis - With opioid drug deaths on the rise, how is this reflected in the U.S. progressed natal chart or current transits of our outer planets, etc. Just curious about your take on this.

A. Good story idea....

re: Yellowstone - Just curious: I am aware that eclipses are often coupled with earthquakes - is there a chart for Yellowstone NP, and if so does it
reflect seismic possibilities? I'm not sure Mexico City is connected, unless it's foretelling of the beginnings of plate movement farther up the road.

A. Yes, Yellowstone has a birth chart, set for March 1, 1872 when it was set aside as the U.S.’s first national park. As far as earthquakes go, note that transiting Uranus is exactly squaring Yellowstone’s natal Uranus. However, it seems there’s something else going on, since it’s simultaneous with other earthquakes, hurricanes, and a simmering volcano. Possibly these are related to the surge in solar flares over the last two weeks.

re: Jupiter and Saturn - In 2019 I will experience both Jupiter and Saturn returns simultaneously, born in 1960. Any bearing on my generation? thanks for your time.

A. Two Saturn Returns and five Jupiter Returns occur at age 59 for everyone. These overlapping cycles make this age particularly noteworthy for most people. Many begin retirement, while others have found a niche and want to keep going. Many born during the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn (1960-61) are particularly ambitious, and have become pillars of society.

re: Louise Hay - In your recent article you state that her Neptune conjunct Part of Fortune in her second house created her self-help book fortune, but Neptune and POF are in her first house. (and Neptune can never progress into the second house because at 26:58 it went retrograde; she was about 40).
She was a powerful (Leo) psychic (Neptune in the first) and lucky (conjunct the POF), but also challenged by (a square from Saturn and an opposition from Jupiter)-duh the patriarchy!
Maybe Vesta, the Priestess, which IS in her second house, in Virgo (books and teachers) and conjunct the Black Moon (fierce feminine) accounts for why women love her. She showed women how the patriarchy had infiltrated their minds and how detrimental that could be. Vesta is trine her Mars in the tenth so it's connected to her career and activities.

A. Yes, Vesta is powerfully placed in her 2nd house. Although Neptune is technically in her 1st house, it’s less than three degrees from her 2nd house cusp, and so a predominant influence over this house’s affairs.
re: Pop Quiz - To me, Mars (in Scorpio) square Pluto would mean that every transiting planet that contacted Mars would be challenged by the lord of Scorpio himself, Pluto, to use that energy to produce or accrue power. Rex did that for Exon; Harvey did this for his co. and himself.
Harvey's conservative Capricorn Moon opposes Uranus in Cancer, sponsor of the Women's Liberation Movement, and squares both Eris in Aries and Saturn in Libra slightly wide), but at least a T-square that created difficult energy circumstances for him repeatedly, where he clearly failed repeatedly.
Rex's sensitive Pisces Moon conjuncts Venus and Pallas. He likes traditional women but with these three trine Uranus in Cancer he's okay with non-trad. women also, plus Uranus is conjunct his ascendant! He must be pretty non-trad. himself or appear to be.

A. This is the best answer received, and mostly on target. Only one thing I would point out and that is that we don't have an accurate birth time for either of these two, so the charts used are the default noon times. Therefore Rex likely doesn't have Uranus on the Ascendant.

re: Trump’s progressed Moon – In Trump’s top five astro-events, couldn't this progressed Moon event also represent women in the family? This is like punch number one of an astrological one-two punch. Moon-Pluto and Venus-Uranus? Yikes.

A. In general, the progressed Moon doesn’t act like the natal Moon and the key phrases we usually associate with the Moon. The progressed Moon is a timer of emotionally signficant events. Still, transiting Saturn has been around his natal Moon, so the observations still holds.

The 2020 Saturn-Pluto Conjunction, part 3

A reader noted that since the landmark 2010 Supreme Court decision against “Citizen United”, corporations can spend as much as they want to defeat or elect candidates. So she asks, “How will the coming Global Corporatocracy be different from the current state of government?” In brief, we’re in the midst of an escalating concentration of wealth that is transforming our collective institutional structures.
The central theme of the Saturn-Pluto combination is about re-structuring, and the establishment of rigid defensive boundaries against perceived enemies. In the corporate world, that means a consolidation phase where the smaller players get bought out or merged with the larger ones in order to remain competitive. A prime example of this developing trend was last week’s news about CVS merging with Aetna to take on Amazon’s latest industry-shaking endeavor, the selling of pharmaceuticals.

In the U.S. horoscope, the Saturn-Pluto conjunction works in tandem with progressed Saturn trine natal Venus*, which will be exact on April 1, 2020. The bullish power of this configuration became evident last week when the transiting Sun-Jupiter conjunction landed right on this progressed Saturn at 3º Scorpio. On that day several major tech giants reported their earnings, and all four (MSFT, AMZN, INTC, and GOOG) vastly exceeded expectations, sending their prices to new highs.
Which companies can compete with these behemoths? The CVS-Aetna merger “sets the stage for a new healthcare/retail delivery model”, as one analyst described it. And the “delivery model” is the key to many of the fundamental structural changes taking place. The Saturn-Pluto conjunction unfolds in the U.S. 3rd house of transportation, which is similarly going through a streamlining and rebuilding process. For the first time this holiday season, Americans will buy more gifts online than in retail stores.
* This configuration was associated with the current bull market, and described here.
Top Five Astro-Events for November

1. Juno conjoins Pluto on the 11th, but is a formidable partnership influence from the 7th through month’s end when Mars squares Juno. Marriages and business agreements may be forged or broken under this influence, depending on agreement over long-term objectives. Mars in Libra prefers to work with others, but those who don’t express their personal needs will feel oppressed, exploited, and even abused. Partnerships based on shared values and goals may make major strides.

2. Saturn trines Uranus on the 11th and is a major influence all month. These two are concurrently favorably aspecting the U.S. Moon at 25º Aquarius, accounting for the recent bullish trend among American investors and widespread optimism about the U.S. economy. This configuration may bring long-term benefits to those who find the right mix between traditional ways of doing things and inventive, progressive paths forward.
3. The Scorpio New Moon on the 18th marks an important political shift in the U.S. with several concurrent activations of the national horoscope. With justice-minded Jupiter conjoining the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant, we might see some major legal cases brought before the public, including from Special Counselor Robert Mueller. Also, Mars entering the U.S. 12th house is likely to bring an increase in inter-party, judicial, military and cultural conflicts over the coming month.

4. Neptune turns direct on the 22nd and in the process picks up the trine from Jupiter in Scorpio through December 5. This subtle, mystical, empathetic combination has little value in the material world, yet can help many find meaning in their lives. Learn to go with the flow and open your eyes and heart to inspiration from helpful spiritual forces. Under this influence, kindness and compassion may become your highest ideals.
5. Ceres in dramatic, proud Leo forms a challenging aspect (the trioctile or 135º) to Lilith from the 12th through December 10th. For those with prominent placements in mid-Leo or the other fixed signs, expect some important developments in your primary parent-child relationships. Loss of loved ones, being a single parent, and caring for elders are possible scenarios. Help your cherished relations by encouraging creative self-expression.
The 2020 Saturn-Pluto Conjunction, part 4

Regarding the Saturn-Ceres-Pluto conjunction, “I seem to recall in my astrological readings that Saturn also represents structure, reality based thinking. Therefore, wouldn't Saturn demand a return to evidenced based policy, such as the reality of climate change, or is this just wishful thinking on my part?” Another reader asks, “What else could Ceres represent in this configuration beyond its environmental influence?”
Ceres is primarily a feminine archetype, and believes in unconditional love and empowerment of others. In the Age of Aquarius, this may be conveyed as a kind of maternal caring and supporting of the network that supports you. As such, Ceres neatly fits into the ecologist’s worldview, that everything is interconnected. A society that collectively takes care of Mother Earth (Ceres) is taking care of itself.

Ceres’ worldview is substantially different from the patriarchal mode of operation, as symbolized by both Saturn and Pluto, which is to dominate and control as much as possible. The Sun is also part of this stellium in Capricorn, and tends to bring issues to light. In this chart, the conflict might be characterized as a clash between the patriarchal command-control mindset and the matriarchal empowerment of others.

This 2020 Saturn-Pluto horoscope lies in the future, but its influence is already making headline news. The many stories being generated about sexual assault committed by well-known alpha males is one clear manifestation. Another trend concerns Ceres’ association with relief efforts after natural or human-caused disasters, such as hurricanes and earthquakes. Currently, our collective psyche is reeling from twin Harvey disasters: the hurricane and the film producer. Global warming is increasing the severity of natural disasters, and we can expect many more over the next few years.
re: SA-PL - Just curious: How will the coming Global Corporatocracy be different
from the current state of government? Elected officials are owned by those who fund them: follow the money (corporation/business/despot) to see who bought whom, and know that laws will be enacted for their benefit. Yes, many of those actions have been covert, but W Bush, with the creation of Citizen's United, made our country's corporate ownership overt. And corporations have no conscience. They care not about global warming, unless they can make a dollar from it. As long as
business-as-usual is generating billions of dollars, climate change
means nothing.

re: SA-PL - Love your Newscope blog and interpretations of our political events. I have read on numerous blogs that the upcoming Pluto/Saturn conjunction will mean conservative power, government, etc. due to Saturn and Pluto both being in Capricorn. Some astrologers have interpreted this to mean that the GOP and possibly Trump will win re-election in 2020. However, the past 9 months of the Trump administration has been anything but conservative and seems more like a radical repudiation of our constitution and past governmental norms and institutions.
So I was wondering if this 2020 Pluto/Saturn conjunction could mean that we return to our traditional governing norms and shore up our government institutions in response to a failed and chaotic Trump administration? Perhaps a return to constitutional basics and less conspiratorial and ideological based ideas and more practical forms of governing. I seem to recall in my astrological readings that Saturn also represents structure, reality based thinking and justice (because it is exalted in Libra). Therefore, wouldn't Saturn demand a return to evidenced based policy, such as the reality of climate change, or Is this just wishful thinking on my part?

re: NCAA football - Some yr.'s ago, I suggested you do an astrological analysis of the University of Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino. You did, and it was interesting. Coach Bobby Pitrino is now at the University of Louisville, and has been very successful. I have an additional suggestions for you to consider: the University of Alabama football coach, Nick Saban, has the BEST NCAA football program in all of America. They are ranked #1 again this year. From an astrology point-of-view: WHY?

re: Pluto-Mars - I'm having cold chills and looking for metaphysical/esoteric balm. I noticed that the square between transiting Pluto and the U.S. progressed Mars started Mar/Apr '16 during the brutal primary season when Pluto went Rx. Just before the election it went direct at 15 degrees and a racist, sexist plutocrat narrowly won; votes were still being counted as the square became exact and he was sworn in. Pluto went Rx, but it just turned direct at 17 degrees and will again square progressed Mars at (approx.) 18 Libra. My question is, will it be over when Pluto gets to 19 degrees since this is an aspect to a progressed planet?

A. These are good observations and an excellent question. In my opinion, the re-awakening of the racist, sexist element in U.S. culture is due to progressed Mars being in the U.S. 12th house, which when activated, awakens all kinds of mean-spirited, aggressive, violent behavior. Other outer planets or progressed planets will continue to stir up this progressed Mars long after Pluto has passed this critical contact. But Pluto’s square is the most hostile.
