re: Eris - Pertaining to the current Uranus/Eris conjunction, I've been wondering how this would affect me and decided to comment as it may provide insight to others going through a similar transit.
Transiting Uranus and Eris are currently making a conjunction to my natal third house Sun/Mercury conjunction, and squaring my ascendant. (Sun 23º50 Aries, Asc 24º20 Capricorn). I've been wondering how having Eris in the mix would manifest, and haven't been able to find much online to prepare. So far, what's been happening is that I've had to become a very goal-oriented, vocal, warrior advocate for my elderly mother in our broken healthcare system. Lately it seems that I am quite effective at it; it's like something powerful comes over me when I'm fighting for my mother's well-being, and all involved do as I say, and I've stopped caring what they think of me. I wonder if this is Eris' influence.
A. Yes, most astrologers aren't aware of Eris yet as a meaningful archetype since it was only discovered a few years ago. Sounds like you've got a handle on it though, doing what you're doing. It does have that warrior energy. Thank-you for your story.
re: Gary Johnson - Good article on Gary Johnson. I like him. He was Governor here in New Mexico. He did a good, solid job. There was no focus on legalizing drugs then. He only does that in his Presidential bids. He was a Republican back then who ran a successful business.
re: Flight MS804 - It occured to me when the Egyptian plane went down that perhaps it is somehow related to MH370. MH370 remains a mystery and it appears that no one has claimed responsibility for MS804 yet. Is this a long playing serial aviation terrorist?
re: U.S. progressed MC - In the September astro-events, #5 mentions what happened during the last two challenging aspects. So what happened when the progressed MC was conjunct Saturn? or semi-square Saturn?
A. I looked at the conjunction. It was in 1837 and for the first time the Senate had to select the Vice President. It was a major test of the constitution.
re: US progressed Mercury - thanks for the encouraging progressed Mercury station aspecting Juno. I'm more hopeful now that Hillary will win
A. In the U.S. chart Juno and Chiron oppose each other. That means progressed Mercury is also sextile Chiron. The Juno in Libra opposite Chiron in Aries represents the candidates' emphasis on "We're in this together " vs. "I'm the only one who can fix the system." Mercury stations right around the time the debates begin, offering a forum for these polarities to play out.
re: Tim Kaine - I have followed your work for many years and especially appreciate your sharing your views on the political scene. Tim Kaine was Virginia’s lieutenant governor and then governor and I have followed his political career for some time too, as I live in Virginia.
I am delighted that Tim is Hillary’s choice for her running mate. Although I don’t know him personally, I have met him and have heard him speak a few times. He is very much who he appears to be – a really nice guy and an excellent political strategist. You would never know that his Eris is conjunct his Ascendant in Aries!
re: MO v/c - Love your articles, always so insightful. Please keep going! With that said, here's another possible article topic for you to explore: How a moon void affects the nominating process of a political convention.
The moon was void on Tuesday 3:56-8:10pm exactly the time Trump was nominated. When he and Pence formally accept the nomination tomorrow night after 6:56pm PST, the moon will be void again.
I'm seeing this as an encouraging sign for us Hillary supporters/Trump despisers. Your thoughts? Inquiring minds want to know!
A. Trump accepted the nomination at 10:20 pm when the Moon was sextile UR and square Mars... In any case, I don't buy the MO v/c thing for event charts. That's a horary technique... Don't forget that Obama took the Oath of office during a MO v/c and he got Obamacare passed.

Why no mention that Hillary has her Moon in Pisces? As you know, no U.S. President has had their Moon there. I believe the Election will be a lot stranger than you or any other American astrologer is now thinking.
A. Hillary is well aware of the vulnerability of her Pisces Moon, which is why she didn't open up emotionally during her nomination speech, as so many pundits thought she should to overcome the trust issue. And yes, this is a strange election. If terrorism increases dramatically over the next few months, that will certainly help Trump.
re: Hillary overheated - As much as I’m a Trump fan, considering him a worthy “messenger” of needed change, I do also appreciate, being from NY state myself, what Hillary did for the state in the 9/11 aftermath. Your take on what was happening with Clinton sounds so “right on!” Also, you never can win trying to out-maneuver someone who’s from the Bronx using his natural tactics. re: North Korea - Based on last weeks NewsScope indicating a potential war involving the U.S. in June 2017 and this week's describing the planetary configurations effecting the North Korean leader at that same time it seems those two may match and it would be North Korea the U.S. ends up at war.

A. Yes, the progressed Venus cycle was in full play at that time, being conjunct not only Pluto but the progressed Ascendant. Also, progressed mars was making a rare octile to the Midheaven. A transiting Saturn-Uranus conjunction in the U.S. 7th house of "open enemies" was squaring the U.S. Moon. Transiting Mars kicked this configuration off by opposing the U.S. Saturn.

re: election - Like millions of other people in the United States I am devastated by Trump's election success. Hillary could still take the White House if on Dec. 19, 2017 when the electoral college votes enough members vote against a Trump presidency. I understand this has never happened in our history. However I looked at the planets on Dec. 19th and the Sun is opposite Trump's Sun and Mercury turns retrograde on that day. My question to you is: Do you think there is a possibility that could actually happen? Your time and efforts in fulfilling my request are greatly appreciated. re: election - How did astrologers go so spectacularly wrong? Every astrologer I read was wrong----and I read quite a few.. Not one predicted Trump. Also most of the polls called it wrong too.

Although many Astrologers got it wrong regarding who would win the Presidency to be fair you did point out some of Hillary’s astrological challenges and I credit you for that. Trump’s Saturn in Cancer
Last week, Donald Trump signaled his intent to follow through on his tough “law and order” line with a string of appointments that have enraged leading Democrats and civil rights groups. The selection of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, Mike Flynn as National Security Adviser, and Stephen Bannon as the White House’s chief strategist give the appearance of a white nationalist movement on the rise.
This tri-wheel segment of the U.S. chart shows the tight interplay between natal Pluto, progressed Sun and Venus, and transiting Uranus in mid-June 2017.
re: war in 2017 - I have been wondering about it since 2008. A lot of astrologers were able to foresee the economic impact of 2008 and compared it to 1929. At the time, I felt that the economic downturn of 1929-32 staged the WWII around 1939. Financial downturns damage human lives. The result of a downturn, or the "fix" of financial downturn is a major cause for war, when the people see that wealth is re-distributed unfairly. However, no astrologer has given any clue of a major war after 2008, until I see your articles on 2017.

Trump was born with Saturn in the tribal sign of Cancer, a placement that is viewed by traditional astrologers as being in its “detriment”. Authoritarian Saturn generally feels insecure and uncomfortable in the feeling-oriented sign of Cancer. Descriptions of individuals with this placement include phrases such as “building walls to keep others at a distance,” and “having a strong survivalist streak.”
Trump’s Saturn in the 11th house of friends and social groups instinctively wants to apply a protective shell around those who are like family, around those who are in the same ethnic clan. During the entire campaign season, the transiting Uranus-Eris conjunction was squaring his Saturn within a degree or two, allowing his radical ideas about immigration to take hold. And now, as his progressed Moon conjoins Saturn, he’s establishing a sharp-elbowed team to put his most tribal notions into practice.
Trump’s progressed Moon will be exactly conjunct his natal Saturn on December 1, by which time we’ll have a clear idea of his intentions according to the people he’s selected to lead his administration forward. With transiting Jupiter also activating his Libra planets, he may yet have some more balanced choices to temper his first few. Then, his progressed Moon will conjoin natal Venus on Inauguration Day, a sure sign of his successful ascension to POTUS.
The Astrology of a Divided America
Mike Pence went to see the musical “Hamilton” last Friday, and received a special message. At curtain call, one of the play’s lead actors spoke for the cast and crew: “We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir.”
Astrologically, we can see how this intense polarization came about by looking at the Scorpio Rising U.S. horoscope and its ruling planet, Pluto. Natally, the U.S. Pluto opposes Mercury, which naturally encourages intense debates and political divisions. Over the recent campaign season, the progressed Ascendant and Pluto opposed each other, deepening the natural divide between Democrats and Republicans. No other national horoscope shows this more clearly than this Scorpio Rising chart.
The Ascendant-Pluto combination resonates with an ominous historical precedent: the beginning of the Civil War on April 12, 1861. At the time, transiting Pluto was at 8º35’ Taurus, forming an exact, to-the-minute opposition to the U.S. Ascendant at 8º35’ Scorpio. The nation’s ruling planet opposed its own Ascendant, putting a nation at war with itself. Also at that time, progressed Mars was at 16º06’ Leo, only 0º02’ from the Leo Midheaven.
In 2017, the U.S. Pluto gets lit up with three major astro-events. Two are progressions: the progressed Sun octiles Pluto and progressed Venus squares Pluto, with the two being exact in June and July 2017, respectively. Also, transiting Uranus will square the U.S. Pluto three times, with the first arriving on June 14. The triple activation of natal Pluto also stirs up its opposition to the progressed Ascendant. These geometric sharp angles readily translate into a dangerously escalating division in multicultural America.
Everything changed when Trump – who owns a substantial amount of ETP stock -- was elected. The CEO of ETP (who donated $100,000 to the Trump campaign) fully expects the pipeline project to proceed unimpeded when Trump takes office. Transiting Pluto conjunct ETP’s Jupiter and ETP’s progressed Mercury trine natal Neptune suggest that he will indeed get the upper level support to proceed. However, the transiting Uranus-Eris conjunction will continue to harass the ETP Sun-Lilith square. This story isn’t over yet.
ETP was incorporated on April 19, 1996 (noon, Dover, DE) when the Sun was in pioneering Aries and squaring Neptune, the natural ruler of oil and gas. Neptune is in the corporate sign of Capricorn and exactly conjunct the U.S. Pluto, indicating its important national role in the oil and gas sector. The Sun’s wide conjunction with Mars indicates the company’s aggressive corporate style.
The Sun also squares Black Moon Lilith in Cancer, forming a problematic configuration that stirs up tribal rage (Lilith in Cancer). Transiting Uranus was squaring Lilith in May 2016 when digging on the pipeline project began. A nationwide grass roots movement began lending their support to the Standing Rock Sioux tribe over the coming months, as transiting Uranus and Eris continued to activate the ETP T-square. Progress was slowing to a halt due to lawsuits and increasingly violent confrontations with police.
ETP and the Dakota Access Pipeline
Nowhere is the polarization of America more volatile than at Standing Rock, North Dakota where protestors have gathered to denounce the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The local Sioux Tribe argues that the massive, four-state pipeline has not been adequately assessed for its environmental impact. The Green Party’s Jill Stein and other prominent liberal politicians have voiced their support for the protest.
