"Thank you very much, you answered all of my questions and offered me great insight into my life and any future issues as well as potential issues that may arise. Your reading was phenomenal!"
"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: NBA Finals - Great article on the NBA Finals. I love that you're an astrologer AND a sports fan! Hey, maybe you can start a website with astro insights for sports bettors like me! I love sports astrology, and you could really carve out a niche for yourself. NO ONE is doing it.
re: NewsScope - How can I get your news every week? I am a new reader.
A. NewsScope is updated every Monday. Just bookmark this page in your favorite places, and come back early in the week to get in depth astrology perspectives about current events.
re: O'Malley - Being a resident of NH, I've met Martin OMalley several times. I think of him as running for Vice President. Seems to have a good technical grasp of how to govern, setting goals, measuring outcomes, analyzing results. Might be a good Al Gore to Hillary's Clinton.... Loyal reader
re: NBA finals - I have a sports related question for you because I know you're a big basketball fan/former player. Who do you think is going to win the NBA Championship? Cleveland or Golden State? Thanks so much. LOVE your column, keep up the great work.
re: Gable-Young - Your analysis of Loretta Young's and Clark Gable's charts got me thinking about birth times, trends, etc. I seem to be part of a cohort of women who had their one and only child at 40, we being some of the women who came of age in the late 60s and early seventies. Any prominent aspects affecting my group over those time eras? We definitely all came through that time when women/girls no longer had the absolute expectation (either personal or society-imposed) to marry and have kids right after college, or to "settle down" in some woman-friendly career, like teaching. We were the first wave to live feminism/women's lib. So what happened with us, astrologically speaking?
A. The Pill happened, along with the radical Uranus-Pluto conjunction in the 1960s that opposed conventional Saturn. It's noteworthy that the four main asteroids were first introduced into horoscopes, making a kind of gender balance among deployed planets.
re: Minnesota - Thanks for your thoughtful defense in the matter of the Minnesota education system and "liberalism." Your weekly newsletter is always a treat. However this comment of yours hit one of my personal issues. We are all in this together. Any person's children and grandchildren deserve a quality education. In part because they will be taking care of the previous generations as we get older. But also because it is morally correct to provide opportunities for every human to find his/her unique gifts to share with the world.
re: Trump - Do you think Donald Trump has a chance? I think he touches a nerve in people. I think the political correctness has gone a little too far, we have all become a little mealy-mouthed.
re: Clark Gable - It is surprising how many male Hollywood stars have prominent Venus aspects. I wonder if the old label of "feminine planet" pertaining to Venus really has meaning. Now that male good looks, indeed beauty,
A. Actually, celebrities are said to be ruled by Venus. They attract attention, like Venus. We can see how well this works in Clark Gable's and Loretta Young's charts.
re: Loretta Young - Very good delineation..but one question remains for me unless I missed something. Who was in the role of Judy's father? Was Loretta married to someone else? Is there a physical resemblance to Clark? Is Judy still alive? By the way, I continue to be soooooo impressed by and with your skill at and capacity for, delineation!
A. Yes, the child is Clark Gable's. At one point, Loretta had her ears surgically altered because they stuck out so far, just like Clark's. Most everyone in Hollywood knew the truth. Loretta did get married to producer Tom Lewis in 1940, who took on the role of father, and they had two more sons. Loretta finally told her daughter in 1988 when Judy angrily confronted her, wanting to know the truth from her own mouth. Judy Lewis wrote a book, Uncommon Knowledge, about how it seemed she was the only one who didn't know her true parentage. She died in 2011.
re: Minnesota - In this week's NewsScope you have an article titled "Minnesota and the Jupiter-Uranus Cycle." You applaud the State's Governor for taxing the rich and raising the minimum wage, showing your liberal bias in interpreting mundane horoscopes, contrary to what you have said previously. BTW, what kind of jobs were created in Minnesota during those years? Serving patrons at McDonalds?
A. One of the reasons CNBC awarded the state the best place to do business is their excellent education system, to which an unusually large portion of the tax proceeds go to. As economists know, those with better educations get better jobs. That's why MN is at the top, not because the govt provides many low wage jobs.
As for my liberal bias, I wonder if you consider Warren Buffett to be a liberal? He has long supported tax reforms that share the burden more equitably. See his editorial on the subject here: nytimes.com/super-rich. I have also frequently written about the unfair leverage that the top 0.1% of the elite have over American politics, esp since the 2014 Supreme Court decision McCuthcheon vs the FEC allowed unlimited campaign donations. See neptunecafe.com/plutocracy
MN's plan works against this downward spiral into a Plutocracy, which is now the most unbalanced since 1929. If you consider that we are all connected psychically, socially, ecologically, and if 40 percent or more of the population is suffering financially, then that's a recipe for economic disaster. The federal government was designed to allow the states some self-determination, and if something works in one state, it can be replicated across the nation.
re: Jim Webb - I'm kind of looking for someone other than Hillary for the Democrats and have a spark of hope re Jim Webb, who's just thrown his hat into the ring. The only data I have on him is Feb. 9, 1946, St. Joseph, Missouri, no time…but that does give him some strong connections (at least so it seems to me at first glance) with reference to the Scorpio Rising USA Horoscope. Complex sort of duck, but maybe…What do you think?
re: racism - The question I want to ask is what astrological transits correlate African American. I love reading your blog -- sorry your webpage -- but I have yet to see a column on the massacre that happened in Charleston South Carolina. The question I would like to ask is can you do an astrological chart on this prevalent racism going on, can you do an analysis on why African Americans are having a hard time? Is there any coincidence to this events they may respond too it is a astrological explanation of these tragic in current events?
A. I do have a chart that describes African American relations with the rest of the country. I wrote about it last December and the chart is also there. See nsc120814
If you do the transits and progressions to that EP chart, you can see how active it is now. Mars at 22 degrees Aries is being activated very powerfully soon by transiting Uranus, and currently, transiting Pluto is conjunct the natal Mercury-Venus. Thanks for your email, and perhaps we can update this soon...
re: Trump - You asked on your site "will Trump win,". According to my calculations, Trump's progressed Part of Fortune will be closely square natal Uranus in Gemini, which is Natally in his 10th house. I do not think so - but it is possible that this could indicate the the election of Trump could be a shock to everyone including him!!
A. Perhaps so. That would be a shock and disruptive to the political system. But like you, I doubt he will win. Historically, the only connections involved with tenth house indicators have been harmonious aspects, most commonly, the conjunction.
re: Sanger - Your writing on Margeret Sanger just makes her sound like such a lovely lady to do such wonderful things like paving the way for women and all... but really. DID her hatred for anything other than the white race get left out intentionally or are you just unaware?
I just love your astrological insight. But I swear you color it so much with your desire for the left to be all and win all. Maybe you just really dont realize it and see it ....I also am aware that there are not many Conservatives like myself who actually have a deep love or any understanding for astrology at all. You are obviously incredibly intelligent - or else you would not be able to comprehend the depths of Astrology the way you do.... but I have to say that intelligence stops when it comes to the loves of the left, communism, socialism, etc....
A. Actually, I am aware of her Nazi-like favoring of white supremacy. It's quite abhorrent. The problem is that I have only 250 to 300 words to get my astrological point across. I don't have the space to go into which of her policies were "good" and which were "bad". My aim was only to show how her birth control program was interconnected to today's politics via the Solar Eclipse.
re: U.S. economy - Isn't it a little ironic that the series of Uranus/Pluto squares is now over: ending in Spring 2015. Yet now, the economy starts to look shaky again with China's slowdown. Apparently 10 years of Federal Reserve intervention has its limits. It is almost like Uranus partially offset the Pluto opposition to the USA Sun but is no longer helping.
A. Uniquely in the U.S., Uranus has been a minor player in the Uranus-Pluto square. Most likely, the reason is because in the U.S. chart, the progressed Ascendant has been aligned with natal Pluto, emphasizing this factor. You can read about this in more detail at plutocracy.
re: Pluto - You wrote: "However, the times are changing and elections may be decided by the Pluto factor." Thinking about this at a people level makes me cringe. A connection to the U.S. Moon used to be of the utmost importance. As a candidate, you have to connect with the people. You serve them. They vote for you. But now, it's all about power. The people don't matter anymore. SIGH
re: Pop Quiz - In answer to your Pop Quiz in your weekly Neptune Cafe newsletter, it looks like Donald Trump's progressed Part of Fortune is at zero degrees Scorpio. Will it be at 15 degrees Scorpio come election? Love reading your column each week!!
A. No, you're doing something wrong. His Part of Fortune (progressed) is currently at 2 degrees Virgo. Do you have astrology calculation software? It'll be at 19 degrees Virgo in Nov 2016, which squares his 10th house Uranus. This describes a disruptive force more than an election win.

President Xi and the Paradigm Shift
Last Friday President Obama and China’s President Xi announced a "common vision for an ambitious global climate agreement." The joint announcement* included immediate and practical measures for lowering CO2 emissions, inspiring universal approval from environmentalists who hailed the agreement as a “paradigm shift”.The world’s two leading polluters agreed to work together to push for progress at December’s UN Climate Summit in Paris.
President Xi’s horoscope (June 15, 1953; Beijing, China; time unknown) features his Gemini Sun trine a diplomatic Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Libra and sextile Pluto in Leo, two exceptionally fortunate aspects that have enabled his steady rise to power. However, his Sun also squares Black Moon Lilith, which has brought him more than his fair share of hardship, and made him aware of the corrupt underside of politics.
Xi has several planets in patriotic Cancer, including his Mars, and a triple conjunction linking Mercury, Ceres, and Uranus. The Gemini Sun is in an out-of-sign conjunction with Mars, fueling his desire to visit and communicate with other national and international leaders. His Ceres (especially since it aspects several outer planets) carries a deep recognition of environmental damage (opposite Chiron), plus a revolutionary fervor (Uranus) in pressing for positive changes.
On November 15, 2012 Xi was elected General Secretary of the Communist Party, making him the paramount leader in China. At the time, his progressed Sun was at 20º Leo and conjoining his natal Pluto. In accordance with Pluto’s symbolism, in his first speech he vowed to tackle political corruption at the highest levels. Currently, Pluto is turning direct and heading into an opposition with his Ceres. Pluto here poises him for making significant contributions to the global community, especially in terms of facilitating constructive environmental reforms.
* The accord comes just as Pluto turned direct while in a critical degree in both China’s and the U.S.’s national charts. NewsScope previewed this historic meeting here and here
October’s Top Five Astro-Events
1. Mercury turns direct on the 9th while sextile to constructive Saturn. The 9th and 14th is a good time to consolidate any ongoing negotiations with actual agreements. Mercury turning direct in the partnership sign of Libra marks the beginning of clearer communication by facilitating cooperation and mutually agreed goals. Mercury is also near Black Moon Lilith, which emphasizes the naming or identification of things felt but not seen through the 17th .
2. Jupiter trines Pluto on the 11th, but is in effect from the 7th through 15th. This expansive and fortunate window of opportunity is especially favorable in business, the work environment, and for implementing large-scale projects. Since Pluto is aligned with the U.S. Sun, it will help Congress to overcome severe internal conflict and actually get something done. Jupiter-Pluto here may mark huge corporate mergers or buy-outs. Big Money is on the move.
3. Saturn forms a trioctile (135º) to Uranus on the 22nd, but this disruptive aspect is in effect from the 15th to 27th. Saturn takes on more of the negative traits of Sagittarius when challenged by Uranus. Expect a rise in self-righteous behavior, hypocrisy, and religious tyranny. On the other hand, the radical or revolutionary impulses inspired by Uranus in Aries meet head-to-head with traditional authority, creating crises and stand-offs.
4. The Full Moon on the 27th brings important changes geopolitically since transiting Pluto is simultaneously opposing the U.S. Sun. Watch the intensity of news developments increase up to this Full Moon, which is bound to be event-oriented since Mars at 20º Virgo triggers the September 13 Solar Eclipse. Expect some heads of corporations, government agencies, military forces, or other organizations to fall from power.
5. Neptune is quincunx (150º) Black Moon Lilith on the 28th, and is in effect from the 20th through month’s end. Those with prominent planets in 6º-7º of any sign, but especially Libra or Pisces, will be feeling far more intuitive or even psychic in this time frame. Expect to see more news stories about supernatural events or mystical experiences. The “unknown” becomes a common theme in personal and geopolitical developments.
Volkswagen Scandal
Last week the world’s largest automaker by sales, Volkswagen, admitted to installing sophisticated software that allows its cars to cheat environmental tests. Volkwagen’s CEO resigned, and the company’s stock lost some 30% of its value (roughly, $26 billion) in the days after the EPA’s announcement. Volkswagen’s horoscope is set for the foundation of the company on May 27, 1938 (Berlin, Germany) by Hitler’s Nazi Party.
The Gemini Sun’s only major aspect when considering the traditional planets is a sextile to Saturn in pioneering Aries. This easy-flowing aspect reflects the innovative industrialization (Saturn in Aries) of a transportation company (Sun in Gemini). The Sun is also well supported by a trine to Pallas in the people’s sign of Aquarius. Hitler declared, “It is for the broad masses that this car has been built. Its purpose is to answer their transportation needs, and it is intended to give them joy.”
The Mercury-Uranus conjunction represents the tremendous design breakthroughs dreamed up by Ferdinand Porsche, the Austrian engineer who built “the people’s car”. Mars in Scorpio trine Pluto gives VW indomitable industrial strength, which allowed the company to establish a global presence after World War II. Mars is also sextile Jupiter in the corporate sign of Capricorn, further widening the company’s ambitions.
Currently, transiting Neptune is in a long-term square to the VW Sun, which indicates that this scandal has been brewing for some time, and will continue to unfold over the next two months. Simultaneously, transiting Saturn will oppose the VW Sun in mid-November, making a celestial one-two punch against the iconic Beetle. However, after that, progressed Mars trine Saturn takes over, a constructive dynamic that will help VW rebuild its reputation.
