Thank you very much, Michael. This is exactly the specific information I needed.
***
I love the way you can put together the asteroids, planets, Eris, BML, etc. So much thorough detail. I am really appreciating this!! I am very grateful for your input on this matter.
***
You have been very helpful, and caring.
***
You are kind of an exceptional individual and you motivate me to collect myself, and gather the scattered scallops of my Gemini Moon.
"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: U.S. progressed MC - In the September astro-events, #5 mentions what happened during the last two challenging aspects. So what happened when the progressed MC was conjunct Saturn? or semi-square Saturn?
A. I looked at the conjunction. It was in 1837 and for the first time the Senate had to select the Vice President. It was a major test of the constitution.
re: US progressed Mercury - thanks for the encouraging progressed Mercury station aspecting Juno. I'm more hopeful now that Hillary will win
A. In the U.S. chart Juno and Chiron oppose each other. That means progressed Mercury is also sextile Chiron. The Juno in Libra opposite Chiron in Aries represents the candidates' emphasis on "We're in this together " vs. "I'm the only one who can fix the system." Mercury stations right around the time the debates begin, offering a forum for these polarities to play out.
re: Tim Kaine - I have followed your work for many years and especially appreciate your sharing your views on the political scene. Tim Kaine was Virginia’s lieutenant governor and then governor and I have followed his political career for some time too, as I live in Virginia.
I am delighted that Tim is Hillary’s choice for her running mate. Although I don’t know him personally, I have met him and have heard him speak a few times. He is very much who he appears to be – a really nice guy and an excellent political strategist. You would never know that his Eris is conjunct his Ascendant in Aries!
re: MO v/c - Love your articles, always so insightful. Please keep going! With that said, here's another possible article topic for you to explore: How a moon void affects the nominating process of a political convention.
The moon was void on Tuesday 3:56-8:10pm exactly the time Trump was nominated. When he and Pence formally accept the nomination tomorrow night after 6:56pm PST, the moon will be void again.
I'm seeing this as an encouraging sign for us Hillary supporters/Trump despisers. Your thoughts? Inquiring minds want to know!
A. Trump accepted the nomination at 10:20 pm when the Moon was sextile UR and square Mars... In any case, I don't buy the MO v/c thing for event charts. That's a horary technique... Don't forget that Obama took the Oath of office during a MO v/c and he got Obamacare passed.
re: Hillary overheated - As much as I’m a Trump fan, considering him a worthy “messenger” of needed change, I do also appreciate, being from NY state myself, what Hillary did for the state in the 9/11 aftermath. Your take on what was happening with Clinton sounds so “right on!” Also, you never can win trying to out-maneuver someone who’s from the Bronx using his natural tactics. What perfect advice for Clinton’s continuing campaign! I, surely, hope she doesn’t read your column! Thanks once again for such quick and perfected commentary!
re: North Korea - Based on last weeks NewsScope indicating a potential war involving the U.S. in June 2017 and this week's describing the planetary configurations effecting the North Korean leader at that same time it seems those two may match and it would be North Korea the U.S. ends up at war.
re: 2017 war - Always enjoy your insights. The recent article on the forecast of war in 2017 is unsettling. Do any of the indicators point to where the conflict will originate, and then [mostly] take place? Is there a safe space to "hide out" during the conflict? And how long will the war last?
A. Sorry, I don't know the answers to any of your questions.
re: 2017 war - As always I'm appreciative of your regular column. This time, against all logic, I hope you are wrong about war in 2017. Let us pray that we all (collectively) have too much sense and practicality to do this.
A. I hope I'm wrong too.
re: 2017 war - Dear Lord, this has really upset me. I've never been to your country but I owe it and its people a lot. One has received so much from the Americans.
re: 2017 war - Speaking of explosive war indicators, were there explosive indicators occuring around December 7th, 1941?
A. Yes, the progressed Venus cycle was in full play at that time, being conjunct not only Pluto but the progressed Ascendant. Also, progressed mars was making a rare octile to the Midheaven. A transiting Saturn-Uranus conjunction in the U.S. 7th house of "open enemies" was squaring the U.S. Moon. Transiting Mars kicked this configuration off by opposing the U.S. Saturn.
re: NewsScope - Thank you as always for your amazing ability to transform the depths of astrology into something the rest of us can comprehend. Keep up the good work.
re: NewsScope - I really enjoyed your last post !! Thanks so much for your time and thanks for sharing what you do!
re: NewsScope - I look forward to your NeptuneCafe articles each week. I find it fascinating to see the correlation between astrology and world affairs. Scary stuff though.
re: Hillary - You wrote: "she attempts to match Trump’s ability to endlessly insult and criticize. " Are you kidding me?? She started her career on the panel looking into Nixon 30 second missing tape. She was fired for her rhetoric and lying and has been at it ever since. This is long before Trump came on the scene. Your above quote seems like her illness was brought on because she is trying to keep up with the mean old Trump. If she can't keep up with Trump how is she going to keep up with Iran, Iraq, Saudis, N Korea, etc???
re: NewsScope subscription - Do you still take subscriptions to your Newscope page? I should like to subscribe if the answer is in the affirmative.
A. No, I've pretty much done away with the subscription thing. It was a bit hard to manage. But you can always read NewsScope on Mondays, accompanied by the relevant graphics.
re: solar energy - what a great site to read early monday morning every week. now, as republicans take hold of everything, children and grandchildren have to worry about climate and breathing clean air !!!! So let me come to main point, what will happen to Elon Musk??? NO, solar power or no subsidies to solar so is going to bring some problems???? As always your advice goes a long way and your insight into any topic you discuss is worth reading and digesting, so please comment if you can.
re: election - Like millions of other people in the United States I am devastated by Trump's election success. Hillary could still take the White House if on Dec. 19, 2017 when the electoral college votes enough members vote against a Trump presidency. I understand this has never happened in our history. However I looked at the planets on Dec. 19th and the Sun is opposite Trump's Sun and Mercury turns retrograde on that day. My question to you is: Do you think there is a possibility that could actually happen? Your time and efforts in fulfilling my request are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge of astrology with the world.
re: election - How did astrologers go so spectacularly wrong? Every astrologer I read was wrong----and I read quite a few.. Not one predicted Trump. Also most of the polls called it wrong too.
re: election - I enjoy your website and your astrological analysis as it relates to current events. Although many Astrologers got it wrong regarding who would win the Presidency to be fair you did point out some of Hillary’s astrological challenges and I credit you for that. You also do a better than most job of keeping your personal ideology out of your analysis, something other Astrologers could learn from. Look forward to your analysis of 2017 with President Trump.
re: election - it seems it's now underlined, that the biggest picture here is the dark side of capitalism. (As far as our political elections---money in our politics for one thing.) Is this what you meant about what the astrological signs are showing us? I've always thought you were so right on about the United States having Scorpio rising by the way. And it seems really obvious now...
re: NewsScope - I always enjoy your newsletter. This week is especially potent. Thank you for your efforts.
re: your 3/21/16 column - you wrote "in 2016, if it becomes Hillary vs. Trump...it is possible that a 3rd party candidate could step in ,making it possible that no candidate receives the 270 electoral votes needed to win." Now that Jill Stein has gotten a recount ordered in 3 delegate-rich states, do you still see this as happening? I love your column and look forward to it each week. Your insights are amazingly accurate.
re: Electoral College - Lately I’ve been thinking about Mercury going Retro (conjunct Pluto) on the very day the Electoral College is meeting—Dec 19 and then Uranus going Direct on Dec 29. Don’t you think there will be some changes with all the recounts of votes in the Rustbelt? Thanks for all the insights you provide each and every week!
re: Ivanka Trump - She seems to be playing a pivotal role in her father's business dealings, campaign and forming presidency. Please tell us more about her, and her relationship with her father. Is she safe? Is she trapped? Is she walking a tightrope emotionally? Does she have any control or much influence?
re: war in 2017 - I have been wondering about it since 2008. A lot of astrologers were able to foresee the economic impact of 2008 and compared it to 1929. At the time, I felt that the economic downturn of 1929-32 staged the WWII around 1939. Financial downturns damage human lives. The result of a downturn, or the "fix" of financial downturn is a major cause for war, when the people see that wealth is re-distributed unfairly. However, no astrologer has given any clue of a major war after 2008, until I see your articles on 2017.
re: election - Thank you as always for your well-written News Scope. It took me a while to watch the video at the end of your piece. Wow. I really feel powerless. The only thing I could think to do was share that link with everyone I know. I shared it in a secret group on Facebook and I emailed it to friends.
re: election - Like you and others, I didn’t expect Donald Trump to win but was pleasantly shocked! He won despite what the stars seem to imply (transiting Saturn siding up to his Moon and opposing the Sun). ... You’re always current and always on target. Thanks for your column and thanks for listening to my version.
re: Bannon - Would you consider analyzing Steve Bannon's chart? I'd love to read your insights.
re: the next war - After rereading your Sept 5th and Nov 2st columns, I got the impression that our next war maybe a war within. Perhaps sparked by the S. Dakota pipeline protests? Is there any indication with whom we would be going to war with in 2017? Foreign or Domestic? If foreign, do you foresee another 911 type terrorist attack?
re: Trump - You've hinted at a lot of stuff for some time. Political commentators have as well. Do you see the Trump presidency either coming to fruition or--if it does--lasting four years? If it does not last or does not actually occur at all is some actual Other determined by the other Oath of Office--whenever that might be?
A. In my article about the ceremonial Oath of Office horoscope, I show how Trump's inauguration chart is similar to JFK's and Nixon's because all three have Part of Fortune in hard aspect to Black Moon Lilith. And we know how both JFK's and Nixon's terms ended tragically before four years...
re: Sibley U.S.chart - I use the Sibley with good results. However, that is not to say that the Scorpio Rising chart isn't valid. Different perspectives may manifest in different charts. However, I'd like to point out the perspective of a friend whose spent 50 years in NGO work all over the world.
She knows little about astrology other than her own sign. However, she has often criticized the U.S. presence in port after port where she has been. "They always have to have the biggest ships. You always know when they are around. Why can't they make a softer
footprint???!!!!"
Yes, that's a display of power, although Scorpio says to me CIA, not giant battleships. More importantly to me, given that the Rising sign is the way you are perceived by others - this international display of overwhelming size speaks to me of Jupiter.
A. I wonder how many political enthusiasts can tell the difference between a Sagittarius Ascendant and a Sun-Jupiter conjunction trine the Ascendant? When 8º Scorpio is rising, the U.S. Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer trines the Ascendant, bestowing all the grandiose qualities you see in a Sadge Ascendant.
Here's another perspective about a Scorpio Ascendant besides the secrecy thing: it resonates with the 8th house, and thus capitalism. And with four planets in the 8th house, the theme is much emphasized.
In addition to the Sun-Jupiter trine the Ascendant, it does so from the 9th house. What's the difference between the Sun in the 9th house and a Sagittarius Ascendant? I asked Jeff Jawer this once, and he couldn't say.
And with four planets in the 8th house, the U.S. has become a national umbrella for the powerful corporations that dominate the planet. Yes,they leave a huge "footprint" most everywhere, especially via innovative technology (Uranus), the military (Mars), the cultural celebrities (Venus), and the banking system (Jupiter).

Juno and the Art of the Deal
Trump’s first book, “The Art of the Deal”, was published on November 1, 1987 and became a bestseller. Trump was born with his Gemini Sun trine a Juno-Jupiter conjunction, giving him a natural affinity toward making megadeals. At the time of its publication, transiting Mars conjoined his Juno in Libra, while his progressed Mercury was exactly sextile Juno (orb: 0º01).
Trump got elected as his progressed Ascendant and Juno were at 26º Libra and sextile his Mars at 26º Leo. The prominence of Juno here helps to decipher the Trump agenda which, in essence, is deal-making. Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson, Trump’s choice for Secretary of State, was born with his Aries Sun sextile Juno at 6º Aquarius (March 23, 1952; Wichita Falls; time unknown). Juno is the most prominent placement in his chart now, since his progressed Sun is at 6º Gemini where it trines natal Juno.
Jupiter makes everything bigger while Black Moon Lilith makes everything more mysterious, secretive. Tillerson’s progressed Jupiter is at 6º Taurus and his progressed Lilith is at 6º Leo, creating a powerfully dynamic T-square involving natal Juno. Currently, his progressed Juno is at 22º Aquarius where it’s receiving multiple hits from the outer planet transits. From these aspects, it’s a safe bet that the Exxon CEO is in the midst of the biggest deal of his life.
On August 30, 2011, Tillerson signed a massive oil deal* with Vladimir Putin, who was representing the Russian state-run oil behemoth Rosneft. The unusual partnership would give Exxon access to vast oil reserves in the Arctic, while Russia received the technological know-how to get the oil out. Transiting Uranus was right on Tillerson’s Aries Sun at the time, describing his leadership in the breakthrough accord that secured Exxon’s long-term dominance.
Putin’s Juno and Exxon
Putin was born with his Libra Sun trine Juno (October 7, 1952; 9:30 am; Petrograd, Russia), a combination similarly attracted to making deals to secure his place in the world. His natal Juno in Aquarius is only three degrees from Tillerson’s Juno, so they tend to see deal-making in the same light. The two first became acquainted in the late 1990s, and have been best friends ever since.
Among them is transiting Pluto heading into a conjunction with Standard Oil’s Capricorn Sun over the next few years. Pluto has never been here before in Standard Oil’s history, and it represents a struggle for survival by controlling everything within its vast influence. The important Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 2020 takes place at 22º Capricorn – very near Standard Oil’s Sun. Ceres, the environmental asteroid, is at the center of this conjunction, and this powerful stellium squares Eris. This configuration promises to bring an epic battle over global warming.
The Sun in patriarchal Capricorn has numerous aspects to both support and challenge Big Oil’s global domination. The trine to the Ceres-Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Taurus suggests the immense financial power at work, while the opposition to Uranus and square to Neptune imply an uncertainty, and boom-and-bust cycles. When ExxonMobil and Rosneft signed their huge deal on August 11, 2011, Standard Oil’s progressed Jupiter was at 5º20’ Gemini, precisely trioctile the Capricorn Sun (orb: 0º00’).
When the Supreme Court ruled that Standard Oil was an illegal monopoly on May 15, 1911, progressed Lilith was squaring the Sun, while transiting Neptune opposed the Sun. Currently, transiting Uranus is turning direct at 20º Aries, where it forms a tight square to the Standard Oil Sun. This makes the ExxonMobil-Rosneft deal an iffy proposition -- as well as Tillerson’s nomination. However, other progressions and transits indicate ultimate success.
Rockefeller's Standard Oil
John D. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil, the world’s first corporate monopoly, was incorporated on January 10, 1870 (New York, NY; time set for noon). The original corporation was busted up by Teddy Roosevelt in 1911, and all the busted pieces became huge corporations in their own right, including Exxon and Mobil. So the Standard Oil chart can be used to track major developments in Big Oil.
Putin’s Libra Sun conjoining Tillerson’s Saturn points to the staying power of their shared interests. Putin’s elevated Pluto has progressed only one degree since he was born, but at 23º Leo it’s in a close sextile to his natal Mercury. When the Arctic megadeal was signed in August 2011, Putin’s progressed Juno, Venus, and Neptune were all at 23º of their respective signs, indicating the multi-dimensional influences at play that promised to make the arrangement a “game changer”.
Unfortunately for Putin and Tillerson, and the financial well-being of their respective domains (Russia and Exxon), Obama placed economic sanctions on Russia on July 16, 2014 for its involvement in the Ukraine conflict. The tightest configuration at this time (when the deal with Exxon was blocked) involved Putin’s Mercury, the natural ruler of documents. The major alignment consisted of the transiting Lunar Nodes, the progressed Midheaven, and transiting Eris – all at 23º Libra/Aries.
Trump’s election may prove to be a turning point in the Exxon-Rosneft deal. Putin undoubtedly felt optimistic, since transiting Jupiter was conjunct his Sun on Election Day. And when we compare Trump’s chart with Putin’s, we find many conjunctions and harmonious intra-aspects. Among the most interesting is Putin’s Part of Fortune at 22º Gemini, exactly conjunct Trump’s Gemini Sun. Also, Trump’s partnership asteroid Juno is less than one degree from Putin’s Libra Sun.
