But I do also acknowledge that he alone has gotten the Korea situation where it is today and I appreciate your willingness to acknowledge that and also get an insight into the astrology behind it. re: Russia - yes, this week's column was very interesting starting with the Russian chart. It seems they had an astrologer's advice since the Sun is at the MC, Jupiter is in the 10th, and Pluto is strong in Scorpio in the 2nd house of values.
Since the Russian Sun is conjunct trump's Sun, they certainty have a friend in him. It's disconcerting that Russia's natal Mars inconjuncts the U.S. ascendant, exactly, and Russia's natal Eris is conjunct the U.S. progressed MC this year.
re: Kim Jong Un - I'm baffled by Kim's sudden attitude and policy reversals. After years of posturing, bullying, and threatening the world with nuclear annihilation, now he's transformed himself into a rational human being? It seems unlikely. Can we trust the transformation? Is it a ruse? If not, how and why did it occur? Is it permanent? So many questions... Can you give us some insight?
A. As I suggest in 4/30 blog, it may be due in large part to the fear that Trump will actually start a nuclear exchange with North Korea. Trump is just crazy enough to do that, or so it seems.
re: Uranius - Just curious: is there a degree of orb associated with the upcoming Uranus into Taurus. My husband’s Asc is 3 deg. Wasn't sure how to read that, or if I need to. My Sag Asc at 0 is quincunx; is that going to be troublesome?
A. There’s an old astro-proverb that says Mars arrives ahead of time, Uranus on time, and Saturn is late. This refers to when the influence manifests, and Uranus is unusual in that it’s most evident when the aspect is exact. So your husband may feel it coming, but nothing happens yet. You may be more in line for some changes with this transit.

A. Thanks for the excellent suggestion. However, all I could find about her birth date is that she was likely born in 1962 in New Mexico.
re: Uranus - You mentioned that astrologers are a bit worried about how the Uranus-Taurus influence may affect Wall Street. Remember, Roosevelt confiscated all personally-owned gold in 1933 and took control of the production of the silver mines in 1934 when Uranus entered Taurus!
I faithfully read your weekly analysis of the prominent news items, but I do have a very hard time accepting "asteroidology", even though I fully understand that everything under the sun is in a constant state of evolution!
Please inform me of your response to my gold-silver price/value scenario for the next few years.
A. I don’t have any astrological insights about how the gold market will shape up over the next few years. It’s interesting that FDR had some connection with gold and silver the last time Uranus entered Taurus. Is this a coincidence, or what happened during the previous cycle?

re: March - First let me again thank you for your weekly column. It is a Monday highlight. This week I have some additional comments regarding the March 24th March for Our Lives and the NRA chart.
Looking at the March for our Lives chart, one standout to me is the Mars-Moon opposition and a wider Mars-Saturn conjunction tying Saturn to the opposition to the Moon. Opposition aspects, as you know, indicate opposing viewpoints and opposing forces. Mars-Saturn could very well be the police. The augmented t-square, Mars & Saturn to Sun to Moon, could indicate loss of life due to police (or counter demonstration) actions.

A. Thanks for the link, and it’s something I’ve referred to in the past based on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn with the close involvement of Ceres and Eris. This chart will be reviewed again in the near future.
re: unwitting collusion - In your story on the Mueller investigation, the unwitting comment was not in any way a likely reference to Don Jr.s meeting which was very witting! He knew exactly who he was meeting with and why. That’s been well established. It refers instead to the indictment’s statements that Trump campaign staff around the country, in other words, locals, were the ones who worked with these people and were even paid by them without realizing they were dealing with Russians. That is stated plainly in the indictment. I think we will see more upcoming about the real Trump campaign running the show that were quite wittingly working with Russians including via social media in other ways via the Rebekah Mercer firm, Cambridge Analytica.
re: Ceres - My question has to do with ceres. I recently discovered that when ceres goes retrograde it lasts for 9 months (long enough to gestate and birth an infant!) and since it's in leo it's conjuncting the very planets pluto is inconjuncting. Since many people must have pluto in leo, is this some kind of generational thing? In my life it has manifested partially as distress and death stalking my pets no matter how hard I try to protect them. Hoping for some relief in June when ceres heads into virgo.
A. Ceres is retrograde for only three months, but is in Leo for nine months. Yes, this may influence the Pluto in Leo generation, also known as the “baby-boomers”. Many will have health crises during this time, or have to manage their parents’ well-being and life passages.

re: death - I read your article on Louise Hay in Dell Astrology Magazine. It was wonderful and insightful. You mentioned her end came when transiting pluto and her progressed sun opposed her natal pluto. It seems very rarely that people live past t. pluto opposed n. pluto or 124 years approx. You answered one reader that Jupiter indicated death; the ultimate journey but Louise had no really bad jupiter transits except maybe progressed sun on the cusp of the 8th, something that can't happen in all charts. You know; what indicators relieve us of loved ones against our desire, you might say?
A. Major outer planet transits or progressions to the Sun can greatly diminish one’s vital force, but generally speaking, numerous challenging astro-events happening at once can bring death.
re: NYSE - Regarding your pop quiz about what else is going on in the NYSE chart, transiting Uranus is activating the Neptune-Saturn opposition. Also transiting Saturn is opposing natal Lilith.
A. Yes, transiting Saturn is opposing the NYSE’s Part of Fortune, which in turn is conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct the elevated Saturn, which is certainly a disruptive influence. Looking at the progressed chart, we have a Fixed Grand Cross, which has provided the steady, long-term growth for the last few years. When a Fixed Grand Cross breaks, it’s like an earthquake.

Trump’s New Lawyer,
the Irrepressible Rudy Giuliani
A regular reader notes there are some amazing connections between Trump’s and Rudy Giuliani’s charts. Most notably, they both have the unrestrained impulsiveness of the Sun-Uranus conjunction in Gemini, which is prone to saying things off the cuff, without rehearsal. That’s been the story of the week after Giuliani confirmed that Trump did pay back Michael Cohen the $130,000 for silencing Stormy Daniels.
Giuliani’s reported birth time has gone through some changes, but if ADB’s preferred time of 2:30 pm* birth time is accurate (May 28, 1944; New York, NY), his Sun-Uranus conjunction falls in the 9th house of legal affairs, which certainly makes sense. What makes Giuliani’s appointment as Trump’s lawyer so interesting as political theater are the many Mercury activations unfolding in his chart, which make him irrepressible.
He began his new role last week as his progressed Mercury (at 15º Virgo) was squaring natal Pallas (at 15º Gemini), the asteroid associated with the political strategist. Transiting Neptune at 15º Pisces is activating this natal progression, a configuration that resonates strongly with Trump’s natal T-square involving the same planets (Mercury square Neptune, opposite Pallas). It promotes confusing, misleading, and often absurd political explanations.
Last Friday, Trump had to explain Giuliani’s explanations by saying he’d just started and is still learning the facts. Yet with Giuliani’s progressed Mars forming a challenging octile to natal Mars over the coming four months, he may never get his facts to come out the way Trump wants. Hard Mars-to-Mars aspects represent ego conflicts. However, if Giuliani can learn to be Trump’s mouthpiece, he will be in a constant state of combativeness with the press. Otherwise, he won’t last.
But her career in transforming bumbling stars into agile foxtrotters plays out the transformative power of Venus-Pluto. And now with transiting Uranus about to enter Taurus and activate her Venus-Pluto, Cheryl’s own life is being transformed. Last week on her 34th birthday, she announced that she’s getting married to her on-again, off-again boyfriend, actor Matthew Lawrence. This time it looks solid since Cheryl’s progressed Ceres is conjoining her Venus – a sure sign she’s hearing her biological clock ticking.
Cheryl Burke was born with her Sun and Venus in the sensuous sign of Taurus (May 3, 1984; 7:43 pm; Redwood City, CA). The Sun resides in her 7th house of partners, and opposes Saturn, right on her sexy Scorpio Ascendant. This combination naturally shaped her into the experienced teacher (Saturn) for her celebrity dance partners (Sun in 7th). This angular Sun-Saturn aspect naturally needs to be in charge.
And then Venus is in her 6th house of work where it has provided her with a stable job as a DWTS ballroom dancer since 2006. Her Venus is supported by a romantic, dreamy trine to Neptune, and given a sexual magnetism by the opposition to Pluto. Cheryl has had her share of bad experiences related to this Venus-Pluto aspect, including being sexually abused as a child (Pluto in the 12th house can be seen as a predator).

When Venus forms a challenging aspect to Pluto, relationship patterns can become intense. Those with a natal Venus-Pluto are emotionally insatiable, intrigued by the power of sex, and can be obsessive or compulsive when it comes to intimate, committed partnerships. The Venus-Pluto dynamic has a positive side, and no one has expressed its transformative power better than DWTS professional dancer Cheryl Burke.
InSight is carrying a microchip with the names of some 2.4 million space fans, including William Shatner’s (Captain Kirk of StarTrek). Shatner’s Sun at 1º Aries conjoins Chiron near the Ascendant of this chart, and his Uranus at 28º Pisces is precisely conjunct InSight’s Pisces Ascendant. Shatner is thus imprinted on InSight’s projected identity (the Ascendant), adding his fame and slogan, “To boldly go where no man has gone before.”
InSight was launched when the Sun in earth-bound Taurus opposed Jupiter, the planet of expanding horizons (May 5, 2018; 4:05 am; Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA). InSight is expected to touch down on Mars on November 26 when the Sun and Jupiter are conjunct, a highly favorable sign for this ambitious mission. Note that Mars conjoins several other placements in Capricorn, which aptly describes the lofty goals and high level of competence wrapped up in this project.
The Midheaven at 29º Sagittarius is closely aligned with the Galactic Center, another indicator of this space mission’s important role for all of humanity. Uranus, the planet of technology, is exactly trine the Midheaven, showing that all should go well during the next seven months’ journey. This is an exception to the perils of the pending Mars retrograde cycle, since the best launch window occurs during this phase.
NASA’s Ambitious Mars Mission
One of the possible manifestations of Uranus in Taurus is an uprooting from terra firma which, in today’s era of space exploration, means preparing to colonize an extra-terrestrial body, like the Moon or Mars. Last Friday, just before dawn, NASA launched InSight Mars, a spacecraft designed to land on Mars and probe its interior structure -- a critical step in establishing a human Mars base.
