re: Kushner - I remember you talking about Jared and Pluto, and how 2018 would bring hard times to him. I remember how far away 2018 sounded at that time. But ut turned out to be a great prediction!
re: March - First let me again thank you for your weekly column. It is a Monday highlight. This week I have some additional comments regarding the March 24th March for Our Lives and the NRA chart.
Looking at the March for our Lives chart, one standout to me is the Mars-Moon opposition and a wider Mars-Saturn conjunction tying Saturn to the opposition to the Moon. Opposition aspects, as you know, indicate opposing viewpoints and opposing forces. Mars-Saturn could very well be the police. The augmented t-square, Mars & Saturn to Sun to Moon, could indicate loss of life due to police (or counter demonstration) actions.
re: decency - Thought this OpEd in the New York Times might interest you. It makes a case for a new and powerful force of change arising in the US., the force of decency. Is this Lilith in the US chart? Ceres? Other asteroids? Would love to see your thoughts in a future column.
A. Thanks for the link, and it’s something I’ve referred to in the past based on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn with the close involvement of Ceres and Eris. This chart will be reviewed again in the near future.
re: unwitting collusion - In your story on the Mueller investigation, the unwitting comment was not in any way a likely reference to Don Jr.s meeting which was very witting! He knew exactly who he was meeting with and why. That’s been well established. It refers instead to the indictment’s statements that Trump campaign staff around the country, in other words, locals, were the ones who worked with these people and were even paid by them without realizing they were dealing with Russians. That is stated plainly in the indictment. I think we will see more upcoming about the real Trump campaign running the show that were quite wittingly working with Russians including via social media in other ways via the Rebekah Mercer firm, Cambridge Analytica.
re: Ceres - My question has to do with ceres. I recently discovered that when ceres goes retrograde it lasts for 9 months (long enough to gestate and birth an infant!) and since it's in leo it's conjuncting the very planets pluto is inconjuncting. Since many people must have pluto in leo, is this some kind of generational thing? In my life it has manifested partially as distress and death stalking my pets no matter how hard I try to protect them. Hoping for some relief in June when ceres heads into virgo.
A. Ceres is retrograde for only three months, but is in Leo for nine months. Yes, this may influence the Pluto in Leo generation, also known as the “baby-boomers”. Many will have health crises during this time, or have to manage their parents’ well-being and life passages.

re: death - I read your article on Louise Hay in Dell Astrology Magazine. It was wonderful and insightful. You mentioned her end came when transiting pluto and her progressed sun opposed her natal pluto. It seems very rarely that people live past t. pluto opposed n. pluto or 124 years approx. You answered one reader that Jupiter indicated death; the ultimate journey but Louise had no really bad jupiter transits except maybe progressed sun on the cusp of the 8th, something that can't happen in all charts. You know; what indicators relieve us of loved ones against our desire, you might say?
A. Major outer planet transits or progressions to the Sun can greatly diminish one’s vital force, but generally speaking, numerous challenging astro-events happening at once can bring death.
re: NYSE - Regarding your pop quiz about what else is going on in the NYSE chart, transiting Uranus is activating the Neptune-Saturn opposition. Also transiting Saturn is opposing natal Lilith.
A. Yes, transiting Saturn is opposing the NYSE’s Part of Fortune, which in turn is conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct the elevated Saturn, which is certainly a disruptive influence. Looking at the progressed chart, we have a Fixed Grand Cross, which has provided the steady, long-term growth for the last few years. When a Fixed Grand Cross breaks, it’s like an earthquake.
re: Laurence Fink - Did you hear about this yet? <link> A titan in the financial world is threatening to withhold investments from corporations unless they show they ‘contribute to society.’ I thought either he and/or his company might be interesting to look at from an astrological perspective.

I wrote a more recent piece about how an injured pro wrestler used yoga to heal himself. So I am a fan of yoga and its benefits, and will keep your article on 18 ways yoga benefits health for future reference. I would like to merge astrology with yoga in some way, but it's not so easy. I will keep looking...
re: Trump - Thanks again for showing the fascinating correlations between Trump’s astrology and his behavior. His upcoming eclipsed super full moon on January 31 ties interestingly to the date of his 2018 State of the Union Address, to be delivered only hours before on January 30. The event looks set to provide plenty of controversy, don’t you think?

re: death - Are you good at seeing death in a chart? Are Ceres-Pluto aspects part of the signature?
A. In general, that’s not something I look into. Ceres-Pluto does deal with major life transformations, which may or may not include death, but at least the grieving process is evident, along with the survival mode mind-set, or its opposite, the giving up. I've looked at a few death charts and seen some commonalities. Richard Houck's "The Astrology of Death" is a good source, but half of it is Vedic astrology. Still, he points out the prominence of Jupiter in death charts (the ultimate journey), the lunar nodes activated, and the 4th house conditions (end of the matter).
re: John Bouvier Kennedy - I was reading an article about John Bouvier Kennedy Schlossbert (Caroline Kennedy's son) and how he looks so much like John Kennedy Jr. He's very much interested in climate change and has said he 'aspires to a career in politics". Perhaps you could do a newscope article on this young man and whether his chart has 'presidential potential'.

A. I have Nov 11, 1889 for the state of Washington, set in Olympia, time unknown. Penfield uses 2:27 pm based on his rectification. About “access", all back issues of NewsScope are available, I recently updated the menu where you can find the links. It's difficult to organize them because it makes NeptuneCafe so slow in adding new pages.

re: tax bill - I was looking at chart set for Trump signing tax bill. Is there a special significance to the fact that Saturn and Sun conjunct at 0 degree Capricorn. Just how often can that occur?
A. Yes, it's very rare, and is why I said that it's an empowerment of the corporations, especially since it's in the 10th house. The corporate tax rate was lowered from 35% to 21% - a huge subsidy of American corporations paid for by U.S. taxpayers and an expanded federal debt of $1.5 trillion.
re: Oumuamua - I searched your website as best as I could to see if you have looked into Oumuamua, the first of its astronomical class as an interstellar object, but saw no results. If you have reviewed this item, please direct me to that. If you have otherwise looked into this, my question is what have you found. It was initially described as a comet, then changed to asteroid, but the first ever object from interstellar space. An article said it first appeared from the direction of the star Vega. That would be at 15-Cap-33 I believe, and close to conjunction with Pluto at the time. I thought I would try to see if I could find a date, time of discovery, and location at the observatory in Hawaii for this discovery. It is not easy as most references are to the date only, October 19 2017.

Washington Chaos Goes Global
Last week, in the midst of an avalanche of troubling headlines about Trump aides, the Russia investigation, and high-level White House departures, Trump found time to tweet about Alex Baldwin’s sad impersonation of him. Former CIA director John Brennan called Trump “unstable, inept, inexperienced, and unethical” and expressed concern about the nation’s lack of leadership. And then Trump started a global trade war.
The traditional astrological indicators are sufficient to paint this picture of White House chaos, with Trump’s progressed Midheaven now exactly octile his 10th house Uranus as a major influence. The self-defeating behavior is also readily apparent due to a progressed Moon-Pluto conjunction in his 12th house (exact March 16). And frequently mentioned in astrology circles is transiting Saturn’s influence over his natal Mercury-Neptune square.
In practice, the devolution of the presidency is due to a confluence of indicators, not just this or that one. Another major indicator rarely discussed is Eris, known as the Goddess of Chaos and Discord. And “chaos” is the most common word used to describe the White House these days. Eris is currently at 23º Aries where it forms a close sextile to Trump’s Gemini Sun and a square to his Saturn. These are long-term influences.
The sextile to Trump’s Sun suggests that he enjoys and can facilitate chaos, which many of his followers (35% of Americans) say is needed to shake up the corrupt political dynamics. Eris’s square to his Saturn in Cancer reveals his chaotic family affairs. But this Trump chaos has real-world consequences: transiting Eris is in Trump’s 9th house of foreign relations. Currently, as transiting Jupiter is stationing retrograde at 23º Scorpio, it’s perfectly quincunx transiting Eris, activating it, and leading to a global trade war.
“Trade Wars are Good”
Defying economic logic, Trump tweeted that “trade wars are good and easy to win.” The day the announcement was made, global stock markets plunged, with the Dow ending the day down 400 points. Insiders report that Trump made the unexpected, surprise announcement following a night of “chaos” in the White House. “He made the decision because he became unglued” said conservative columnist David Brooks.
Transiting Saturn will continue to be activating her Mercury-Neptune square through the end of this year, indicating that more behind-the-scenes stories are yet to be revealed. By week’s end, publishers and Hollywood producers were drooling over a rumored White House diary, with offers already approaching $10 million. But investigative Saturn will first manifest as a subpoena for any supposed record of her daily interactions with Trump. Watch when transiting Uranus opposes her Libra Sun in mid-April for further developments.
As described last November, Hope Hicks was born with a Mercury-Neptune square (October 21, 1988; Greenwich, CT; time unknown) that happens to be a close overlay of Trump’s Mercury-Neptune square. Her Mercury in Libra squares Neptune in Capricorn, and his Mercury in Cancer squares Neptune in Libra – all in the same degree area. With this astrological parallel, it’s no wonder that she told white lies for the president.
This all came out as transiting Saturn was activating both of their Mercury-Neptune squares. Transiting Saturn was at 7º Capricorn when she testified, then quit the next day with exactly conjunct her natal Neptune. Her abrupt, surprise and unexpected resignation keys the Uranus archetype, and this was also in play: transiting Uranus at 25º Aries was exactly opposite her progressed Venus at 25º Libra.
Hope Hicks’ White House Diary
Last week Hope Hicks stonewalled representatives of the House Intelligence Committee for eight hours by refusing to say anything about her White House interactions since the November 2016 election. But the next day The New York Times reported that she told “white lies” for Trump. And then, she abruptly quit so she could pursue “other opportunities.” Astrologically, the timing is more than coincidental.
As an astrologer, I wanted to see if the announcement was made when the Moon was void of course, which would mean that nothing would come of the matter. The first tweet came from CNN correspondent Kaitlin Collins, who posted the announcement at 8:34 am EST. A chart set for that time stamp puts Uranus exactly on the Aries Ascendant, perfectly befitting the unexpected nature of the announcement.
More importantly, the Moon is in early Virgo and making a trine to Saturn in Capricorn, the signature of a very real economic proposition. Mars at 20º Sagittarius is a key planet since it symbolizes the steel and aluminum industries. And of course, Mars is the war planet: its opposition to the U.S. Mars suggests the impending trade war. Mars here also opposes Trump’s Sun, putting him in a fighting mood.
While Mars is favorably sextile the Part of Fortune, Pluto at the Midheaven squares Fortuna. Yes, steel and aluminum industries may benefit, but the vast majority of corporate powers (Pluto in Capricorn) that rely on steel and aluminum will be out of luck. Black Moon Lilith at the Midheaven casts her shadow over the whole affair. Since Lilith here also opposes the U.S. Sun, it doesn’t bode well for the U.S. president or the nation as a whole.
