re: women in tech - I hope you will deal with the Google engineer being fired for his screed on how women aren't suited for leadership or tech jobs. I noticed that Google fired him on the lunar eclipse day. I had read that one of the things that eclipses do is to bring hidden things to light.
It's certainly true that tech is a place for men who believe in the supremacy of men. It has not helped that tech has a collection of white men dug into this belief, but also men from other cultures who think it is an insult to report to a female manager or believe women can lead, although they may be okay to be around to do clean up work.
The Google engineer that got fired went to Harvard, and it also came to light that his professors had to write a public apology for him when he did a skit in class that implied that great male scientist only rely on women to give them sex as they work their way to greatness. A lot of news outlets didn't report that find.
Anyhow, eclipses bringing the dark side to light, here we have a woman-hater who has a history of stunts, and a president who supports Nazis and white terrorists who come out into the light as if it's "both sides" in fairness.
A. Another way to look at this is about the current Lilith-Saturn conjunction, as I wrote in August's astro-event #5: "Patriarchal worldviews clash with the rising Goddess energy."

re: Yellowstone - Just curious: I am aware that eclipses are often coupled with earthquakes - is there a chart for Yellowstone NP, and if so does it
reflect seismic possibilities? I'm not sure Mexico City is connected, unless it's foretelling of the beginnings of plate movement farther up the road.
A. Yes, Yellowstone has a birth chart, set for March 1, 1872 when it was set aside as the U.S.’s first national park. As far as earthquakes go, note that transiting Uranus is exactly squaring Yellowstone’s natal Uranus. However, it seems there’s something else going on, since it’s simultaneous with other earthquakes, hurricanes, and a simmering volcano. Possibly these are related to the surge in solar flares over the last two weeks.
re: Jupiter and Saturn - In 2019 I will experience both Jupiter and Saturn returns simultaneously, born in 1960. Any bearing on my generation? thanks for your time.
A. Two Saturn Returns and five Jupiter Returns occur at age 59 for everyone. These overlapping cycles make this age particularly noteworthy for most people. Many begin retirement, while others have found a niche and want to keep going. Many born during the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn (1960-61) are particularly ambitious, and have become pillars of society.
re: Louise Hay - In your recent article you state that her Neptune conjunct Part of Fortune in her second house created her self-help book fortune, but Neptune and POF are in her first house. (and Neptune can never progress into the second house because at 26:58 it went retrograde; she was about 40).
She was a powerful (Leo) psychic (Neptune in the first) and lucky (conjunct the POF), but also challenged by (a square from Saturn and an opposition from Jupiter)-duh the patriarchy!
Maybe Vesta, the Priestess, which IS in her second house, in Virgo (books and teachers) and conjunct the Black Moon (fierce feminine) accounts for why women love her. She showed women how the patriarchy had infiltrated their minds and how detrimental that could be. Vesta is trine her Mars in the tenth so it's connected to her career and activities.
A. Yes, Vesta is powerfully placed in her 2nd house. Although Neptune is technically in her 1st house, it’s less than three degrees from her 2nd house cusp, and so a predominant influence over this house’s affairs.
re: Pop Quiz - To me, Mars (in Scorpio) square Pluto would mean that every transiting planet that contacted Mars would be challenged by the lord of Scorpio himself, Pluto, to use that energy to produce or accrue power. Rex did that for Exon; Harvey did this for his co. and himself.
Harvey's conservative Capricorn Moon opposes Uranus in Cancer, sponsor of the Women's Liberation Movement, and squares both Eris in Aries and Saturn in Libra slightly wide), but at least a T-square that created difficult energy circumstances for him repeatedly, where he clearly failed repeatedly.
Rex's sensitive Pisces Moon conjuncts Venus and Pallas. He likes traditional women but with these three trine Uranus in Cancer he's okay with non-trad. women also, plus Uranus is conjunct his ascendant! He must be pretty non-trad. himself or appear to be.
A. This is the best answer received, and mostly on target. Only one thing I would point out and that is that we don't have an accurate birth time for either of these two, so the charts used are the default noon times. Therefore Rex likely doesn't have Uranus on the Ascendant.
re: Trump’s progressed Moon – In Trump’s top five astro-events, couldn't this progressed Moon event also represent women in the family? This is like punch number one of an astrological one-two punch. Moon-Pluto and Venus-Uranus? Yikes.
A. In general, the progressed Moon doesn’t act like the natal Moon and the key phrases we usually associate with the Moon. The progressed Moon is a timer of emotionally signficant events. Still, transiting Saturn has been around his natal Moon, so the observations still holds.

from the current state of government? Elected officials are owned by those who fund them: follow the money (corporation/business/despot) to see who bought whom, and know that laws will be enacted for their benefit. Yes, many of those actions have been covert, but W Bush, with the creation of Citizen's United, made our country's corporate ownership overt. And corporations have no conscience. They care not about global warming, unless they can make a dollar from it. As long as
business-as-usual is generating billions of dollars, climate change

re: SA-PL - Love your Newscope blog and interpretations of our political events. I have read on numerous blogs that the upcoming Pluto/Saturn conjunction will mean conservative power, government, etc. due to Saturn and Pluto both being in Capricorn. Some astrologers have interpreted this to mean that the GOP and possibly Trump will win re-election in 2020. However, the past 9 months of the Trump administration has been anything but conservative and seems more like a radical repudiation of our constitution and past governmental norms and institutions.
So I was wondering if this 2020 Pluto/Saturn conjunction could mean that we return to our traditional governing norms and shore up our government institutions in response to a failed and chaotic Trump administration? Perhaps a return to constitutional basics and less conspiratorial and ideological based ideas and more practical forms of governing. I seem to recall in my astrological readings that Saturn also represents structure, reality based thinking and justice (because it is exalted in Libra). Therefore, wouldn't Saturn demand a return to evidenced based policy, such as the reality of climate change, or Is this just wishful thinking on my part?
re: NCAA football - Some yr.'s ago, I suggested you do an astrological analysis of the University of Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino. You did, and it was interesting. Coach Bobby Pitrino is now at the University of Louisville, and has been very successful. I have an additional suggestions for you to consider: the University of Alabama football coach, Nick Saban, has the BEST NCAA football program in all of America. They are ranked #1 again this year. From an astrology point-of-view: WHY?
re: Pluto-Mars - I'm having cold chills and looking for metaphysical/esoteric balm. I noticed that the square between transiting Pluto and the U.S. progressed Mars started Mar/Apr '16 during the brutal primary season when Pluto went Rx. Just before the election it went direct at 15 degrees and a racist, sexist plutocrat narrowly won; votes were still being counted as the square became exact and he was sworn in. Pluto went Rx, but it just turned direct at 17 degrees and will again square progressed Mars at (approx.) 18 Libra. My question is, will it be over when Pluto gets to 19 degrees since this is an aspect to a progressed planet?
A. These are good observations and an excellent question. In my opinion, the re-awakening of the racist, sexist element in U.S. culture is due to progressed Mars being in the U.S. 12th house, which when activated, awakens all kinds of mean-spirited, aggressive, violent behavior. Other outer planets or progressed planets will continue to stir up this progressed Mars long after Pluto has passed this critical contact. But Pluto’s square is the most hostile.

re: sex scandals - Scandalous revelations are not unique to the US. There have been many in France, Switzerland, the UK and here in Quebec. Jupiter and Lilith in Scorpio are having an effect in many countries.

A. Your natal planetary connections to the U.S. chart can be quite telling in the professional life, but are not likely related to your divorce or other personal affairs.
re: presidential election study - I have been a proponent of your Scorpio Rising natal chart for the USA for many years, since I was introduced into the concept back in the 1970's, through the works of, and conversations with Marc Penfield; and your postings on the internet, and book. I thought it useful to do this study years ago. It sheds some light on US Presidential Party change, or not, in connection with the election cycle. I thought that you might find it of interest. <snip> History informs that a U.S. Presidential Election concurrent with any Saturn-Uranus aspect, hard, soft, or neutral, is very likely (76.9 %) to result in a change of party in the U.S. Presidency.

And certainly the application of moral equivalency still does not excuse his behavior. The Democratic Party is now promoting zero tolerance and Franken, though he is not the President or Roy Moore, is paying the piper. I notice that Black Moon Lilith, since around October, has been near the Galactic Center. I am curious ... just how much of all this ... since Weinstein to the present ... is Black Moon Lilith?

re: war - Have you ever seen, in an inauguration chart, a configuration that suggests war (Mars-Saturn in a challenging aspect) and yet actual warfare with another country did not manifest?
A. I haven’t done that study, sorry. But yes, war does look increasingly possible on the Korean peninsula, and Mars in Pisces does square Saturn in Sagittarius in Trump’s Inauguration chart. Mars square Saturn could also represent Trump’s daily struggle for his political survival, and the bitter partisan politics that his presidency has brought.

Trump’s 12th House Pluto
Last week Trump lashed out at his former campaign strategist, Steve Bannon, saying he “lost his mind”. Bannon was quoted in Michael Wolff’s new book as saying that Trump Jr’s 2016 meeting with Russians in Trump Tower was treasonous. Trump also tweeted that he is a “stable genius” in response to numerous staffer comments that he acts like a child and is unfit for office.
This bi-wheel segment features Trump's natal char on the inner wheel, and his current progressions on the outer. Note the progressed Midheaven-Saturn conjunction is octile his 10th house Uranus.
re: John Bouvier Kennedy - I was reading an article about John Bouvier Kennedy Schlossbert (Caroline Kennedy's son) and how he looks so much like John Kennedy Jr. He's very much interested in climate change and has said he 'aspires to a career in politics". Perhaps you could do a newscope article on this young man and whether his chart has 'presidential potential'.

A. I have Nov 11, 1889 for the state of Washington, set in Olympia, time unknown. Penfield uses 2:27 pm based on his rectification. About “access", all back issues of NewsScope are available, I recently updated the menu where you can find the links. re: tax bill - I was looking at chart set for Trump signing tax bill. Is there a special significance to the fact that Saturn and Sun conjunct at 0 degree Capricorn. Just how often can that occur?
A. Yes, it's very rare, and is why I said that it's an empowerment of the corporations, especially since it's in the 10th house. The corporate tax rate was lowered from 35% to 21% - a huge subsidy of American corporations paid for by U.S. taxpayers and an expanded federal debt of $1.5 trillion.
re: Oumuamua - I searched your website as best as I could to see if you have looked into Oumuamua, the first of its astronomical class as an interstellar object, but saw no results. If you have reviewed this item, please direct me to that. If you have otherwise looked into this, my question is what have you found. It was initially described as a comet, then changed to asteroid, but the first ever object from interstellar space. An article said it first appeared from the direction of the star Vega. That would be at 15-Cap-33 I believe, and close to conjunction with Pluto at the time. I thought I would try to see if I could find a date, time of discovery, and location at the observatory in Hawaii for this discovery. It is not easy as most references are to the date only, October 19 2017.

Astrologically, Wolff’s explosive, behind-the-scenes look at Trump arrives just as Trump’s progressed Moon is about to conjoin his 12th house Pluto. This major astro-event will be exact on January 24, and emphasizes the dark side of Pluto. Psychologically, this activation of this Pluto placement engages Trump’s paranoia that everyone is out to get him, including the mainstream political establishment, the media, the deep state, and so on.
In terms of actual behind-the-scenes affairs that may undermine Trump, the 12th house Pluto can refer to past actions and current attitudes that work against his better interests. For example, we’ve learned that Trump didn’t want to become president, and he doesn’t read or listen. Wolff’s book also gives Mueller’s investigation team many new leads to follow up on. Trump’s progressed Moon goes on to conjoin his progressed Pluto on March 16, so this Pluto phase unfolds over a three-month timeline.
Many commentators are pointing to Wolff’s book as a wake-up call for the nation, that we have a president who shouldn’t be there. But this is nothing new. Not until Democrats take over Congress will Trump likely face direct action against his tenure. Transiting Jupiter is quincunx Uranus in early November, and enters Sagittarius on November 8, two days after the mid-term elections. This is a sign of significant political change and, quite possibly, a shake-up in which party controls Washington.
Saturn Opposite the U.S. Venus
Saturn opposes the U.S. Venus three times in 2018, with the first one taking place on January 14. No matter which chart you use for the U.S. (assuming it’s set for July 4, 1776), Saturn opposite the nation’s Venus is usually considered to be bad for the economy, and perhaps the people’s happiness as well. The market has reached frothy heights, with unprecedented steady, strong growth. So we’re due for a correction.
If Wolff was born close to noon (I suspect he has Libra Rising), then his progressed Moon is exactly conjunct his Mercury now. His Mars in Leo is also being activated (by transiting Mars, Jupiter and Pluto), which describes the bold, confident publishing act he has performed. A Libra Ascendant (around 10 am) makes Venus the ruler of his chart, and its conjunction with Uranus describes the kind of sensational writing he practices. Transiting Pluto would be right on his Midheaven.
Michael Wolff was born with his Virgo Sun unaspected considering traditional measurements (August 27, 1953; Paterson, NJ; time unknown), but at the midpoint of a Uranus-Neptune square, which makes him an “outer-planet-person”. By secondary progression, his Sun is at 7º Scorpio, or one degree from the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant, which creates the celestial opportunity to make a big splash on the national scene.
Wolff’s Mercury is the most important planet in this chart due to its exact conjunction with Pluto and close aspects to the other outer planets. In Leo, his writing tends to be dramatic, over-the-top, and often aimed at creating an effect rather than relating the facts. However, in this case, his unprecedented fly-on-the-wall observations and interviews with Trump’s staff are widely viewed as newsworthy in its own right.

Reaching the #1 spot on Amazon and Apple iBooks, and selling out in bookstores across America, Michael Wolff’s sensational Fire and Fury was published last Friday with all the flare and media attention of a political bombshell. Sales of the shocking inside look at Trump’s White House were fueled by a cease and desist order issued by Trump’s lawyer the day before publication.
When we look at the historical record, Saturn’s previous oppositions to the U.S. Venus have had mixed outcomes.
