re: Uranius - Just curious: is there a degree of orb associated with the upcoming Uranus into Taurus. My husband’s Asc is 3 deg. Wasn't sure how to read that, or if I need to. My Sag Asc at 0 is quincunx; is that going to be troublesome?
A. There’s an old astro-proverb that says Mars arrives ahead of time, Uranus on time, and Saturn is late. This refers to when the influence manifests, and Uranus is unusual in that it’s most evident when the aspect is exact. So your husband may feel it coming, but nothing happens yet. You may be more in line for some changes with this transit.

A. Thanks for the excellent suggestion. However, all I could find about her birth date is that she was likely born in 1962 in New Mexico.
re: Uranus - You mentioned that astrologers are a bit worried about how the Uranus-Taurus influence may affect Wall Street. Remember, Roosevelt confiscated all personally-owned gold in 1933 and took control of the production of the silver mines in 1934 when Uranus entered Taurus!
I faithfully read your weekly analysis of the prominent news items, but I do have a very hard time accepting "asteroidology", even though I fully understand that everything under the sun is in a constant state of evolution!
Please inform me of your response to my gold-silver price/value scenario for the next few years.
A. I don’t have any astrological insights about how the gold market will shape up over the next few years. It’s interesting that FDR had some connection with gold and silver the last time Uranus entered Taurus. Is this a coincidence, or what happened during the previous cycle?

re: March - First let me again thank you for your weekly column. It is a Monday highlight. This week I have some additional comments regarding the March 24th March for Our Lives and the NRA chart.
Looking at the March for our Lives chart, one standout to me is the Mars-Moon opposition and a wider Mars-Saturn conjunction tying Saturn to the opposition to the Moon. Opposition aspects, as you know, indicate opposing viewpoints and opposing forces. Mars-Saturn could very well be the police. The augmented t-square, Mars & Saturn to Sun to Moon, could indicate loss of life due to police (or counter demonstration) actions.

A. Thanks for the link, and it’s something I’ve referred to in the past based on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn with the close involvement of Ceres and Eris. This chart will be reviewed again in the near future.
re: unwitting collusion - In your story on the Mueller investigation, the unwitting comment was not in any way a likely reference to Don Jr.s meeting which was very witting! He knew exactly who he was meeting with and why. That’s been well established. It refers instead to the indictment’s statements that Trump campaign staff around the country, in other words, locals, were the ones who worked with these people and were even paid by them without realizing they were dealing with Russians. That is stated plainly in the indictment. I think we will see more upcoming about the real Trump campaign running the show that were quite wittingly working with Russians including via social media in other ways via the Rebekah Mercer firm, Cambridge Analytica.
re: Ceres - My question has to do with ceres. I recently discovered that when ceres goes retrograde it lasts for 9 months (long enough to gestate and birth an infant!) and since it's in leo it's conjuncting the very planets pluto is inconjuncting. Since many people must have pluto in leo, is this some kind of generational thing? In my life it has manifested partially as distress and death stalking my pets no matter how hard I try to protect them. Hoping for some relief in June when ceres heads into virgo.
A. Ceres is retrograde for only three months, but is in Leo for nine months. Yes, this may influence the Pluto in Leo generation, also known as the “baby-boomers”. Many will have health crises during this time, or have to manage their parents’ well-being and life passages.

re: death - I read your article on Louise Hay in Dell Astrology Magazine. It was wonderful and insightful. You mentioned her end came when transiting pluto and her progressed sun opposed her natal pluto. It seems very rarely that people live past t. pluto opposed n. pluto or 124 years approx. You answered one reader that Jupiter indicated death; the ultimate journey but Louise had no really bad jupiter transits except maybe progressed sun on the cusp of the 8th, something that can't happen in all charts. You know; what indicators relieve us of loved ones against our desire, you might say?
A. Major outer planet transits or progressions to the Sun can greatly diminish one’s vital force, but generally speaking, numerous challenging astro-events happening at once can bring death.
re: NYSE - Regarding your pop quiz about what else is going on in the NYSE chart, transiting Uranus is activating the Neptune-Saturn opposition. Also transiting Saturn is opposing natal Lilith.
A. Yes, transiting Saturn is opposing the NYSE’s Part of Fortune, which in turn is conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct the elevated Saturn, which is certainly a disruptive influence. Looking at the progressed chart, we have a Fixed Grand Cross, which has provided the steady, long-term growth for the last few years. When a Fixed Grand Cross breaks, it’s like an earthquake.
re: Laurence Fink - Did you hear about this yet? <link> A titan in the financial world is threatening to withhold investments from corporations unless they show they ‘contribute to society.’ I thought either he and/or his company might be interesting to look at from an astrological perspective.

His upcoming eclipsed super full moon on January 31 ties interestingly to the date of his 2018 State of the Union Address, to be delivered only hours before on January 30. Trump’s High-Risk Style
With aggressive, self-promoting Mars on his Leo Ascendant and volatile Uranus conjunct his Gemini Sun, Trump has become known for his dangerous, confrontational style. And when he brought his brawling behavior to the Korean situation, we were one impulsive button push from a nuclear exchange. But Trump’s risky bullying has a potential upside that has eluded all his more practical predecessors – a nuclear-free, united Korea.
Details for Trump’s historic summit with Kim Jong Un are still being worked out, but the likely time will be in early June. That’s highly significant due to a major beneficial progression shaping up in Trump’s chart. His progressed Venus is now only 0º08’ from conjoining natal Jupiter, and will be exact on June 14. The combination of Venus and Jupiter is exceptionally favorable, especially since they trine his elevated Uranus.
In today’s mainstream astrology blogs and forums, the most knowledgeable commentators are fond of bringing up transiting Saturn’s activation of Trump’s Mercury-Neptune square. Trump’s penchant for half-truths, exaggeration, and outright lies are built into this Mercury-Neptune square, and he’ll have to pay his dues when Saturn comes around. And there’s certainly plenty of legal trouble brewing that’s become regular news fodder as Saturn has opposed Trump’s Mercury.
What’s missing in most discussions of Trump’s chart is this rare and powerful conjunction of progressed Venus to Jupiter that could very well lead to an historic achievement. The faster-moving progressed Moon follows up over the next two months. In early June, his progressed Moon will be at 15º Leo and heading into a sextile to his natal Jupiter (and progressed Venus) in early August. This suggests that he will not be making any outrageous demands during this summit, but is looking to make his geopolitical mark with an unexpected success.
And now, Saturn has just turned retrograde at 9º Capricorn where it squares her 10th house Jupiter-Saturn. Once again, she’s shaping her own fame by participating in this documentary. And since her Saturn and Jupiter are in the partnership sign of Libra, she’s also gotten engaged. Yes asteroid-lovers, Juno is involved. Transiting Saturn is sextile her Juno in Scorpio, and her progressed Mars is simultaneously quincunx natal Juno. True to her Uranian character, she loves to show the world her exciting life, which is currently centering on her wedding plans.
Paris Hilton was born with her Sun in the networking sign of Aquarius (February 17, 1981; 2:30 pm; New York, NY) where it conjoins the information planet Mercury, and both square the planet associated with new technology, Uranus. This three-planet configuration is ideal for pioneering a new genre of celebrity, and for making social media a viable platform for making change in the world.
In normal times, the Uranian influence might lead to rebellious, outlaw behavior (with Uranus in the 12th house). And she’s had her stint in prison and her sex tape publicly flaunted. But Jupiter, the ruler of her chart, conjoins Saturn in the 10th house of business. Around the time of her Saturn Return, she straightened out her act, began some serious business projects, and in general, became a more responsible, mature adult.
Paris Hilton, the Original American Meme
The American Meme premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last week. The 95-minute documentary is anchored on Paris Hilton’s ability to turn herself into an internet sensation, or as one critic called her, “the mother of the digital age [who] inspired a new generation of self-obsessed social media stars who’re wildly famous for being famous.” The pop culture heiress claims that she invented the “selfie”.*
May’s Top Five Astro-Events
1. Saturn sextiles the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant this month (exact on the 14th), and also the U.S. Ceres (exact on the 11th). This unusually harmonious influence over national affairs occurs at the same time as the extraordinary Uranus Ingress into Taurus, making for a grand mix of contrasts – and potential breakthroughs. The Gemini president exemplifies these contrasts, with potential historic progress unfolding in North Korea as legal challenges intensify.
2. Uranus enters Taurus on the 15th, beginning this iconoclastic planet’s seven-year passage through the sign of stability, tradition, and finances. It’s an odd combination, and explains why astrologers consider Uranus to be in its “fall” here. The Uranus ingress is spiked by Mars’s nearly simultaneous entrance into Aquarius, so that these two planets form an explosive square. If you have any natal planets at zero degrees of any sign, you will feel this volatile dynamic. Take due caution.
3. Mars enters Aquarius on the 16th, marking the beginning of an extra lengthy passage through this sign of friendship, networking, and group mind. Except for three weeks (mid-August to early September), Mars will be in Aquarius through November 15. Aquarians in general will feel energized by this phase, and wherever Aquarius falls in your horoscope, you’ll be likely to be more assertive and stick up for your rights.
4. Jupiter trines Neptune on the 25th and is in effect from the 17th through month’s end. For most people -- those who primarily operate in the material world – this subtle combo will go by unnoticed. However, for those on “the path”, this ethereal pair may raise your consciousness, reveal higher truths, and inspire transpersonal service. Jupiter-Neptune brings clear messages in dreams, via meditation, and psychic tools such as tarot cards and astrology. Experience intuition, empathy, and compassion.
5. On the 17th, Black Moon Lilith conjoins Pluto in Capricorn, with an influence felt all month. These two archetypes share a sense of mystery, hidden power, enchantment, fascination, and creative transformation. Those with natal placements in the 20º to 22º of the cardinal signs will feel the presence of this duo which could take you through some difficult encounters and/or provide an urgent incentive to make deep changes. On the geopolitical level, expect some serious covert operations to come to light.
