re: March - First let me again thank you for your weekly column. It is a Monday highlight. This week I have some additional comments regarding the March 24th March for Our Lives and the NRA chart.
Looking at the March for our Lives chart, one standout to me is the Mars-Moon opposition and a wider Mars-Saturn conjunction tying Saturn to the opposition to the Moon. Opposition aspects, as you know, indicate opposing viewpoints and opposing forces. Mars-Saturn could very well be the police. The augmented t-square, Mars & Saturn to Sun to Moon, could indicate loss of life due to police (or counter demonstration) actions.

A. Thanks for the link, and it’s something I’ve referred to in the past based on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn with the close involvement of Ceres and Eris. This chart will be reviewed again in the near future.
re: unwitting collusion - In your story on the Mueller investigation, the unwitting comment was not in any way a likely reference to Don Jr.s meeting which was very witting! He knew exactly who he was meeting with and why. That’s been well established. It refers instead to the indictment’s statements that Trump campaign staff around the country, in other words, locals, were the ones who worked with these people and were even paid by them without realizing they were dealing with Russians. That is stated plainly in the indictment. I think we will see more upcoming about the real Trump campaign running the show that were quite wittingly working with Russians including via social media in other ways via the Rebekah Mercer firm, Cambridge Analytica.
re: Ceres - My question has to do with ceres. I recently discovered that when ceres goes retrograde it lasts for 9 months (long enough to gestate and birth an infant!) and since it's in leo it's conjuncting the very planets pluto is inconjuncting. Since many people must have pluto in leo, is this some kind of generational thing? In my life it has manifested partially as distress and death stalking my pets no matter how hard I try to protect them. Hoping for some relief in June when ceres heads into virgo.
A. Ceres is retrograde for only three months, but is in Leo for nine months. Yes, this may influence the Pluto in Leo generation, also known as the “baby-boomers”. Many will have health crises during this time, or have to manage their parents’ well-being and life passages.

re: death - I read your article on Louise Hay in Dell Astrology Magazine. It was wonderful and insightful. You mentioned her end came when transiting pluto and her progressed sun opposed her natal pluto. It seems very rarely that people live past t. pluto opposed n. pluto or 124 years approx. You answered one reader that Jupiter indicated death; the ultimate journey but Louise had no really bad jupiter transits except maybe progressed sun on the cusp of the 8th, something that can't happen in all charts. You know; what indicators relieve us of loved ones against our desire, you might say?
A. Major outer planet transits or progressions to the Sun can greatly diminish one’s vital force, but generally speaking, numerous challenging astro-events happening at once can bring death.
re: NYSE - Regarding your pop quiz about what else is going on in the NYSE chart, transiting Uranus is activating the Neptune-Saturn opposition. Also transiting Saturn is opposing natal Lilith.
A. Yes, transiting Saturn is opposing the NYSE’s Part of Fortune, which in turn is conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct the elevated Saturn, which is certainly a disruptive influence. Looking at the progressed chart, we have a Fixed Grand Cross, which has provided the steady, long-term growth for the last few years. When a Fixed Grand Cross breaks, it’s like an earthquake.
re: Laurence Fink - Did you hear about this yet? <link> A titan in the financial world is threatening to withhold investments from corporations unless they show they ‘contribute to society.’ I thought either he and/or his company might be interesting to look at from an astrological perspective.

A. Thanks for the links and interest in NeptuneCafe. The article where I referred to yoga is six years old now, and hardly anyone reads that. I wrote a more recent piece about how an injured pro wrestler used yoga to heal himself. So I am a fan of yoga and its benefits, and will keep your article on 18 ways yoga benefits health for future reference. I would like to merge astrology with yoga in some way, but it's not so easy. I will keep looking...
re: Trump - Thanks again for showing the fascinating correlations between Trump’s astrology and his behavior. His upcoming eclipsed super full moon on January 31 ties interestingly to the date of his 2018 State of the Union Address, to be delivered only hours before on January 30. The event looks set to provide plenty of controversy, don’t you think?

re: death - Are you good at seeing death in a chart? Are Ceres-Pluto aspects part of the signature?
A. In general, that’s not something I look into. Ceres-Pluto does deal with major life transformations, which may or may not include death, but at least the grieving process is evident, along with the survival mode mind-set, or its opposite, the giving up. I've looked at a few death charts and seen some commonalities. Richard Houck's "The Astrology of Death" is a good source, but half of it is Vedic astrology. Still, he points out the prominence of Jupiter in death charts (the ultimate journey), the lunar nodes activated, and the 4th house conditions (end of the matter).
re: John Bouvier Kennedy - I was reading an article about John Bouvier Kennedy Schlossbert (Caroline Kennedy's son) and how he looks so much like John Kennedy Jr. He's very much interested in climate change and has said he 'aspires to a career in politics". Perhaps you could do a newscope article on this young man and whether his chart has 'presidential potential'.

A. I have Nov 11, 1889 for the state of Washington, set in Olympia, time unknown. Penfield uses 2:27 pm based on his rectification. About “access", all back issues of NewsScope are available, I recently updated the menu where you can find the links. re: tax bill - I was looking at chart set for Trump signing tax bill. Is there a special significance to the fact that Saturn and Sun conjunct at 0 degree Capricorn. Just how often can that occur?
A. Yes, it's very rare, and is why I said that it's an empowerment of the corporations, especially since it's in the 10th house. The corporate tax rate was lowered from 35% to 21% - a huge subsidy of American corporations paid for by U.S. taxpayers and an expanded federal debt of $1.5 trillion.

The Transformation of the Health Care Industry
Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Walmart – the third largest pharmacy chain – is in early talks to buy Humana, the giant health insurance corporation.* This follows on the heels of the CVS-Aetna merger, and Cigna’s purchase of Express Scripts, two more mega-pharmacy-health-insurance deals. Meanwhile, Amazon is joining with JP Morgan Chase and Berkshire Hathaway to redesign the entire healthcare business.
The obvious astrological influence in such deep-seated changes in the healthcare industry is Pluto, the planet of transformation. And since the changes are unfolding on the national scene, we look to the U.S. horoscope to see where this is heading. Health is associated with the 6th house, and in the Scorpio Rising national chart, Chiron at 20º Aries is located in the 6th house.
Currently, transiting Pluto is at 21º Capricorn and about to turn retrograde. On January 30, two months ago, Pluto was approaching its first square to Chiron (orb: 0º23’) when billionaire CEOs Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, and Jamie Dimon announced their plans to create a new enterprise that would make health care inexpensive and effective. Since then, the rest of the healthcare giants have scrambled to meet this competitive challenge.
Pluto squares Chiron two more times in 2018, and then Saturn enters the picture in 2019. Transiting Saturn and Pluto will conjoin in January 2020 at 22º Capricorn – still within orb of the square to the U.S. Chiron. The Saturn-Pluto cycle is renowned for its re-structuring tendencies, indicating that we’re heading for a complete consolidation of the massive Big Pharma-Insurance-Medical triangle. In essence, the same corporate power that sells health insurance will also be providing health care, and selling you pharmaceuticals.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dream
Racial tensions in America are once again rising. We can attribute some of this to Trump’s appeal to white supremacists, and recent police shootings of unarmed black men. Chiron is about to leave the victim sign of Pisces and enter aggressive Aries. The last time this happened was 50 years ago, when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, setting off riots across the nation.
On May 19, when Prince Harry and Meghan wed, Venus enters Cancer at 2:11 pm. However, their ceremony begins at noon, and they will likely say “I do” within the hour, putting Venus in the last degree of Gemini. Not good! However, other factors may make up for this, including transiting Jupiter being right on his Midheaven. The closest progressed aspect is progressed Ceres trine his Sun (orb: 0º01’), indicating that their primary joy (and function) is to perpetuate the royal line.
For lavish royal weddings, Jupiter is often the key planet. The so-called wedding of the century (the last century) between Prince Charles and Lady Diana took place when Venus was poorly placed in Virgo. But the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in the partnership sign of Libra was on the Ascendant when they officially said “I do” at 11:17 am. Venus was at least partially saved by being sextile to Mars at the Midheaven.
Prince William married Catherine Middleton on April 29, 2011 when Venus was in the “me-first” sign of Aries and opposite Saturn – a definite no-no among wedding-election-date specialists. However, Juno’s harmonious aspects are often key to a happy marriage. William was born with Juno on his Ascendant and trine Jupiter at his Midheaven, which naturally attracts a wonderful royal marriage. Also, his progressed Venus was in Cancer and conjunct his Sun, making a double blessing.
The Astrology of Royal Weddings
Astrologers who elect wedding dates and times generally center their calculations on Venus, the love planet. According to the tradition, the longest, happiest marriages begin when Venus is in Libra or Taurus, or even better, Cancer or Pisces.* The skilled astrologer then looks for harmonious connections between the proposed wedding date and the couple’s individual horoscopes. What about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding?
MLK was born with his elevated Sun in ambitious Capricorn where it opposes Pluto (January 15, 1929; 11:21 am*; Atlanta, GA), giving him a temperament that naturally finds personal fulfillment through adversity. With Saturn on the cusp of the 9th house of religion, MLK was prepared to follow his patriarchal heritage by becoming a Baptist minister. Yet with Saturn opposite Mars, he bolted against this expectation and received a doctorate in systematic theology.
Mars-Saturn aspects often bring brutal, painful experiences. MLK’s father regularly whipped him, and he felt psychologically wounded by the racism surrounding him. His Moon in sensitive Pisces squares his Mars-Saturn opposition, showing how he felt others’ pain as well. His empathy brought him to the forefront of the civil rights movement. His celebrity status culminated on August 28, 1963 when he led a march on Washington DC where he delivered his famous “I have a dream” speech.
At the time, his progressed Sun had just entered the visionary sign of Pisces and opposed his natal Neptune. Transiting Saturn was in Aquarius, the sign of brotherhood, where it formed a sextile to transiting Jupiter in bold Aries; both formed tight aspects to his angular Pluto. That speech became the foundation (Pluto conjunct 4th house cusp) of MLK’s legacy and the guiding light for a culturally mixed and stronger America.
